The roof of a private house: the diversity of species

Roofing is the final architectural link. It, in fact, determines the complete external picture of the house. The roof of a private house affects not only the appearance of the entire architectural structure, but also the comfort inside the house. • Multi-cloak roof, in another way, - by design the most complex, covering the private house. Roofs of this kind consist of a lot of valleys, internal corners at the junction of stingrays, and outer ribs, which greatly complicate roofing work.

• Mansard roof - gable, but its difference from a simple gable roof is an increase in the attic space due to the broken structure.

• Flat - do not enjoy popularity. They must be cleaned regularly. On such roofs litter and snow are delayed, which leads to rapid leakage.

• Spire-shaped, or domed, roofs - are used extremely rarely on circular structures.

What to choose? Mansard floor or attic roof?

• At the construction of the attic floor the role of the outer walls of the room is performed by the roof of the private house itself. This design gives originality to appearance and allows to increase the volume of internal living space. It is more complex in design, more laborious due to warming and finishing on the inside and, consequently, more expensive in value. The hard roof of a private house is simple in construction.

• The most common is a gable construction. The slope of this roof depends on the roofing material. The roof should not be deformed under the weight of the snow, but the water should penetrate inside.

You should also take into account the technical points: the heavier the material of the roof, the stronger the rafters system, the more reliable the walls and the foundation. When choosing a roof, you should pay special attention to the durability and sound insulation of the material, as well as the possibility of repair without all its replacement.
