Task Scheduler Windows 7: Application Options

In modern programs there are many functions that are used by only a few percent of users of the total number. For example, it is well known that the average user needs only 5% of the available MS Word program features from the MS Office package. And this order of things with a lot of software products. It's the same with the operating system. For example, in Microsoft Windows, since version 2000, there are a lot of services, the disconnection of which has already turned into a kind of cult among experienced users. This is a kind of game for which there is no need to make significant efforts with the presence of the illusion of productive activity. In the author's opinion, it is from here that the roots of the enticement of many users by the "tweakers" of the system take root. For the sake of justice, it should be noted that fine-tuning the system really gives an increase in system resources - from 1 to 10%. The same statement applies to Windows 7. The scheduler of this system is one of the components to be optimized. But is it really so?

Let's see what the service, like the task scheduler of Windows 7, is so hated in the environment of system optimization enthusiasts, and whether it is necessary to disconnect it, because it consumes quite a small amount of system resources and has a lot of capabilities in itself. First, for a system administrator who prefers operating systems from Microsoft, this is an excellent opportunity to run scripts to perform routine routines on a convenient schedule. An example of such a procedure is a backup of a shared directory or sending an email. Regularity can be determined when creating a task, where you must specify the path to the executable file scripts or programs. Secondly, you can use this program as a tool for personal self-organization, where running programs serves as a reminder of an urgent matter, and just run an elementary alarm clock. And thirdly, you can run applications exactly at the right time for you. The obvious application profile is the launch of Internet applications only after the launch of Wi-Fi, which, as is known, is loaded on many devices with a delay.

It should be noted that the standard task scheduler for Windows 7 is slightly improved compared to previous versions, and now there are many more applications connected to the scheduler than in XP (where it was relatively easy to disable it), so this procedure in many respects not only makes no sense , But also very dangerous. It is better to leave everything as is.

Removing some of the tasks included by default will free up some resources. To do this, go to the search, located in the Start menu, and type in the Task Scheduler line. After that, go to the Scheduler Library, then Microsoft and the destination is the Windows partition. So, safely delete Application Experience, WindowsBackup, Windows Error Reporting, SystemRestore, Customer Experience Improvement Program, DiskDiagnostic. Configured in this way, the task scheduler Windows 7 eats a little less CPU time and RAM.

You can do more radically - turn off the task scheduler Windows 7 completely. As it was rightly noted, this can be unsafe for the correct operation of the system, but if you just want to experiment and there is a system "free" from mission-critical tasks, you can try. The developers of the system removed the ability to disconnect from the standard service control panel to make it difficult for inexperienced users to use it. We will work through the regular Windows registry editor - regedit, which can be started via the Run dialog box (Win + R). Further it is necessary to enter into section HKLM, bush SYSTEM. Go down the registry tree - CurrentControlSet, the Services folder. It stores information about all Windows services without exception, which are loaded after the kernel. The required section is called Schedule. We assign the value of the Start parameter (DWORD type) to 4. Thus, the Windows 7 task scheduler is disabled. Reboot and check for correct operation of all the necessary applications.
