Lenovo G580 (Lenovo), a laptop: how to disassemble and clean

In this article, we'll look at the process of disassembling and cleaning the laptop in order to prevent common problems in its operation and prolong the life of the device. For example, take a standard laptop brand Lenovo, model G580. So, how to disassemble the Lenovo laptop and clean it? Can I perform this operation fully at home?

How can I clean Lenovo (laptop). How to disassemble the device

Why dismantle and clean the laptop? Laptop as a vacuum cleaner: it sucks in air, passing it through the radiator to cool the processor. Together with air, the room dust gets into the radiator, thereby contaminating the radiator and worsening the efficiency of its operation. When overheating, the notebook starts to function unstable. First, throttling is manifested - it's a protective system of the processor. In other words, with overheating, the processor starts lowering the operating frequency in order to reduce heat generation. If this does not work, then the laptop just turns off. Constant and regular process of overheating necessarily leads sooner or later to the need for expensive repairs.

For example, take an arbitrary device - a laptop Lenovo G580, consider how to disassemble and clean it. This will prevent problems in the device and prolong the life of the laptop.

Preparation of the necessary tools

Before you disassemble the laptop Lenovo G580, you need to prepare the necessary tools and materials for the process. You will need:

  • Slotted (cross) screwdriver of small size (for fine work);
  • A tool for opening a laptop (a dental scapula or an unnecessary plastic card may come up);
  • The container into which we will fold the fastening screws;
  • As well as thermal paste (it can be purchased at a computer store or in the departments of radio components).

To the note: it is better not to save on thermal grease, because it is the main heat carrier from the processor to the radiator.

Workflow Sequence

For what it is necessary to carry out preventive work with a computer - it is understandable. Now consider the Lenovo G580 / Lenovo (laptop): how to disassemble and clean this device correctly.

  • So, first, you need to remove the battery and unscrew the two bolts of the rear cover fastenings, then move the cover and remove it.
  • Next, we open the contents of the laptop. Here it is necessary to unscrew the bolts holding the hard disk, which must be moved and pulled out, and after - unscrew the bolt of the drive of the CD-ROM drive and pull it out.
  • Next on the line is the detachment of the coaxial cables from the wireless module. To do this, remove the fixing screw and remove the module from the connector, which contains "Lenovo" (laptop).
  • How to disassemble further and remove the keyboard? We continue to adhere to the sequence of such actions: now unscrew all visible bolts on the bottom of the laptop and turn the device around. Now you can easily remove the keyboard. To do this, you need something subtle: a medical spatula will do. At the top of the keyboard there are grooves, through which you can see the spring-loaded buckles. They should be pressed with a tool and gently raised the keyboard. Here you can access the keyboard cable: carefully unfasten it and disconnect the keyboard. In the same way, disconnect the cables from the touchpad and the power button.
  • Under the keyboard, we find further the bolts that connect the laptop. They need to be unscrewed. At this stage, go directly to the opening of the laptop. To do this, with a spatula or plastic card, gently pry off all the latches along the perimeter and lift the top cover.
  • The next step is the motherboard. It is necessary to remove it, having preliminary disconnected plumes of peripheral sockets, wires of speakers, a cable of a socket of a charge, a loop of a matrix and having turned off pair of bolts of fastening of a payment to the case of the laptop. After removing the board, the housing can be cleaned from dust and removed to the side. But that is not all.
  • After the work done, you need to take on the motherboard: disconnect the fan cable, unscrew the bolts securing the cooling system and carefully separate it from the board itself.
  • We proceed to cleaning the cooling system: the processor and other chips must be cleaned from the old thermal paste. If it is hard to remove, you can use solvents.
  • In the next step, unscrew all the screws of the fan cover to clean the radiator from dust. Also for prevention, you can remove the fan blades and lubricate the bushing with engine oil (by no means vegetable!).
  • After cleaning and lubrication the cooling system needs to be assembled, apply thermal paste to the chips where it was previously. The layer of thermal paste should be smooth and thin. Then you should install our cooling system back on the board, tighten all bolts in the order that is indicated on the system itself, and connect the fan to the board.
  • And finally, you can start assembling the laptop in sequence, reverse the disassembly. After the end of this process, you need to turn on the device and check the operation of the cooling system using diagnostic programs. To this end, run the stability test and check the result.

And finally ...

Thus, we examined the sequential actions and the main questions arising during the work with the Lenovo device (laptop): how to disassemble it, clean it and collect it. Be careful and careful! Good luck!
