Selective nutrition in type 2 diabetes mellitus is the result of how a person who suddenly fell ill with this disease behaved during his life.

A wide range of food products has led to the fact that the population of the planet has changed stereotypes in eating behavior, causing various metabolic disorders. Diabetes mellitus is one of these disorders, which is associated with a violation of the assimilation of such an important element as glucose. In diabetics, when there are no mechanisms for rational utilization of this substance, namely, its own pancreatic hormone insulin, carbohydrates, especially in large quantities, become highly toxic to humans. Therefore, nutrition in type 2 diabetes should strictly restrict carbohydrate food, otherwise it can provoke a number of formidable complications, one of which is a diabetic coma. Patients need to follow a special menu every day for type 2 diabetes to avoid unwanted complications. After all, adherence to a rational diet can not only improve the overall condition, but also halt the progression of the pathological process, without the use of strong medications.

In the menu for type 2 diabetes, there should not be room for easily digestible foods with a high sugar content. But not only the increased carbohydrate content should stop diabetics, the same serious approach must be subjected to too fatty foods, which likewise leads to an increase in body weight. But this does not mean that a person with diabetes should have a meager diet. No. On the contrary, nutrition with type 2 diabetes should be maximally diverse.

The basic rules of the culture of nutrition of a person suffering from diabetes mellitus

1. It is necessary to make meals regular, at least three times a day, and it is better even to expand to 4-5 times a day. Such a decision will lead to a normalization of the carbohydrate intake into the body and will save it from excessive jumps of glucose.

2. Nutrition for type 2 diabetes should exclude all foods with an elevated glycemic index, that is, those that after their consumption increase the level of sugar in the blood plasma. It's all carbohydrates: sugar, chocolate, cakes, sweet kinds of fruits, flour products from white wheat varieties, pasta, potatoes, rice and so on.

3. It is necessary to limit the use of food, which has a high content of fat in it. Fats, like carbohydrate compounds, are a source of energy. Therefore, they also increase the likelihood of an increase in the level of sugar, which is required by diet to avoid. It is better to replace refractory animal fats with lighter vegetable.

4. Do not forget about the use of products that include natural fiber, which prevents the rapid absorption of carbohydrate compounds. Fiber is found in many cereals, buckwheat, for example, in baked goods from wholemeal flour, in all fruits, vegetables, as well as in legumes (soy, beans, peas and lentils). All these products can be quite acceptable to vary their own menu.

5. It is forbidden to abuse the intake of alcoholic beverages, as they can lead to unpredictable changes in blood sugar levels, and also dull the sense of vigilance, so under the influence of alcohol you can eat something superfluous.

6. It is required to reduce consumption of salty foods. Salt is one of the factors of the delay in the body of excess fluid, which eventually leads to an increase in the total body weight. Also, salt disrupts the work of the kidneys, which already become vulnerable in diabetes. And later, the improper functioning of the elements of the kidney tissue leads to a persistent increase in blood pressure.

And finally, I want to say that now there are a lot of sugar substitutes, which, according to their taste characteristics, do not differ much from products containing natural substance, and which will noticeably brighten up the existence of many gourmet diabetics.
