Spartacus. Gladiator and the King of Slaves

What associations arise in a person when he hears the word "Rome"? These are the Vatican, the Colosseum, the triumphal arches and aqueducts, victorious legions and skilful hetaera. This is the capital of the empire, where the people demand bread and circuses, where the rulers share their enemies and rule over them. In this abode of vice and strength, power and greatness there were many people who influenced history. Among them, Guy Julius Caesar, Cicero, Virgil, Pliny and Cato, Fulvia and Spartacus-the gladiator.

Spartacus can rightfully be considered the most famous gladiator in the world. He was a great warrior who entertained the yawning crowd and aristocrats of ancient Rome. Each minute of the fight could be the last in his life. But he resisted to raise a huge empire to fight. To a holy war against class inequality, against poverty and slavery, against the fact that a bunch of senators are leading the destiny of millions of people.

It's impossible to say today who the gladiator Spartacus was. Some historians are sure that Thrace was the birthplace of this man, and he was taken prisoner to Rome as a prisoner. As evidence they lead the fact that the Romans fought at that time with Thrace and Macedonia, whose inhabitants had fiercely resisted. Others argue that Spartacus was a runaway legionnaire and a rebel. In favor of Thracian origin, the style of combat also speaks. There were two types of combat, for the use of which the warrior was called a Thracian or a Gall. Spartacus-gladiator could come from Sparta - a powerful state, which in the past was famous for its amazing restraint, strength of spirit and body of its soldiers, iron discipline.

It is precisely known that Spartacus, whose history amazes and admires simultaneously, was trained. Gladiator school Lentula Batishta not only taught him tactics of fighting, but also gave love to the philosophy of Gaius Blossia. The essence of the doctrine of the Blocia reminds the theory of communism, predicting that someday "the latter will be the first and vice versa."

In 73 BC the Spartacus-gladiator and seventy other colleagues rebelled against the Roman Empire. This revolt had three leaders, each of whom was a brave fighter and a great man. They all had one fate and hatred for those who, for the sake of fun, put their lives in danger. Crixus, Caste and Guy Gannik, together with Spartacus, robbed their own school. They carried out all the weapons there and escaped to the caldera near Naples. On the way, they robbed and killed the Roman nobility, in time, they began to join other fugitive slaves. At the time of the end of the uprising, the army of fugitives reached ninety thousand people.

In Rome, there were many slaves, and if the authorities allowed all of them to join the insurgency, the state would cease to exist. Therefore, the best legions sent to subdue the recalcitrant. Despite the valiant battle and excellent tactics that gave the rebels a series of brilliant victories, they lost. Spartacus-gladiator and his army perished at the hands of the famous commander Pompey.

Today the name of Spartacus has become a household name for fearless warriors who dare to challenge the existing arrange. He is the idol of the people's leaders, for whom freedom is most important, for which he does not regret to die!
