Zhukov Yuri Nikolayevich is a historian whose books arouse the interest not only of ordinary citizens, but also became a material for studying the history of the Soviet period in higher educational institutions.

The chief researcher of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Doctor of Historical Sciences graduated from the Historical Archival Institute and at first worked as a journalist. After defending his doctoral dissertation in 1976, he devoted himself to studying the problems of Russian history in the first half of the 20th century. He worked in the archives for over 20 years and created unique works, because he managed to shed light on many controversial issues of a rather difficult period and no less interesting personality of V.
