Secretary of the Chancellery of the District Court: duties

The clerk's secretary is not the highest-paid, but rather prestigious, position in the apparatus of the district court. To apply for a job, a candidate must have a higher legal education and have basic business skills. Experience in this position is not required.

Duties

Unfortunately, in relation to this profession there is no definite list of duties. The list always remains open. Nevertheless, it is possible to indicate the main activities performed by the average secretary of the judicial chancery. It:

• The adoption of civil and criminal cases, as well as administrative materials from the secretaries of the court session, checking the correctness of their registration and the fact of compliance with all requirements of procedural law;
• Keeping cases for the last two years (including the current one) in the active archive of the office;
• The preparation of enforcement lists on the application of persons participating in the case;
• Putting the date of entry of judicial acts into legal force;
• Sending judicial acts that have entered into legal force to the relevant authorities, including, for example, a cadastre chamber or a prison;
• Making photocopies of judicial acts at the request of the parties and their assurance from the relevant judges;
• Reception of citizens on the cases considered;
• Reception of telephone calls from citizens, representatives of organizations and state bodies;
• Execution of orders of the chairman of the court, judges, head of the office, consultant, administrator.

As you might guess, the last paragraph implies almost any action that falls within the competence of the department of recordkeeping in the district court, and the secretary of the office is obliged to execute the assignment as part of his job description and regulatory documentation.

Prospects

Although not all people consider such a profession as the Secretary of the Chancellery quite prestigious, in fact it is capable of giving a good impetus to the movement along the career ladder to all who dream of the position of a justice of the peace. It is enough to have a five-year work experience in the district court for a position requiring higher legal education in order to comply with the basic requirements of the law for candidates for the position of justice of the peace.
