The Regional Clinical Hospital (Veliky Novgorod) was opened on February 10, 1946. At that time, the institution had 90 beds, the staff consisted of 69 people. The departments of endoscopy, chronic hemodialysis, neurophysiological studies, ultrasound diagnosis, hyperbaric oxygenation, and remote lithotrepsy have become independent services. Since 1995, the clinic practices a new technique of surgical intervention, called laparoscopy. On the basis of the institution there are centers of medicine of catastrophes and unconventional medical care. A technical and information support service was organized, which includes a database for equipment repair and a computer center.
