Biography

Son Shaimiev Radik was born in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in the city of Kazan in 1964. According to the zodiac sign Scorpio (born November 14). From 1971 to 1981 He studied in high school. The boy had excellent mathematical abilities, and he easily solved problems in physics and mathematics. His adored subjects at school were algebra, geometry, physics and drawing. He was also very fond of cars and sports. After graduation, he entered the Kazan Civil Engineering Institute, but during his second year of studies he received a summons to the military commissariat. This meant that it was time to serve in the army. Contrary to the will of his father, who at that time held the post of deputy chairman of the Tatar ASSR and could in a few minutes "otmazat" his son from the army, the young man went to the military enlistment office and demanded that he be taken to a special purpose group. Returning from the army, he continued his studies at the institute and in 1987 graduated with a red diploma.

Work experience

To date, Shaimiev Radik Mintimerovich is a member of the Board of Directors and one of the largest shareholders of TAIF. However, he began his career as a simple engineer. In 1989, having decided to work on his specialty, he was accepted as an engineer in the research institute "Kazgrazhdanproekt". The next two years he worked as deputy general director of the SPC of the foreign trade union "Kazan". In 1992 he became director of NIRA-Export LLC, since 1996 he has been acting as the chief adviser to the general director of PSC "TAIF", and two years later he became one of the members of the board of directors of Tatneft. Since 1992 Shaimiev Radik began to work in the investment company "TAIF", which was created on the basis of the foreign trade association "Kazan", which, by the way, was created by the city executive committee of the capital of the Tatar Autonomous Republic in 1990. Initially, it was engaged in the sale of food products, tobacco products, textiles and leather goods: sugar, cigarettes, children's clothing, footwear. Later the company changed its profile and changed its name to "Tatar-American Investments and Finances" ("TAIF"). She was also instructed to prepare the privatization process for all major enterprises of Tatarstan. The partner of the company became the New York firm NKS Trading.

What does NIRA-Export do?

For the first time Radik Shaimiev was appointed director of NIRA-Export in the early 90's. The company was engaged in annual export of oil and oil products abroad for the amount of 300-400 million dollars. Since Radik's father was the president of the republic himself, the enterprise where his son worked - TAIF - became a shareholder of the largest enterprises not only in Tatarstan, but also in the whole region. Without such support, the company would very soon suffer losses, but it, on the contrary, flourished.

Brothers Radik and Airat Shaimiev have always been partners in business. They had cooperation with R. Sultyev, A. Shigabutdinov. Company "NIRA" the youngest of the brothers Shamiev created in partnership with businessman Nikolai Koprivitsa. Their fathers were friends, and children became companions.

Hobbies

From the earliest childhood, Radik and Airat Shaimiev were fond of cars. The financial position of their father allowed them to have the best cars. They seriously took a great interest in motor racing and prepared for competitions on autocross. In 2003, Radik Shaimiev and his crew became European champions in this sport.

Well, how not to respect him after all this, whether he is at least three times the president's son. It is known that on one of the highways of the Czech Republic there is a steep loop, which is named after the brothers - by turning Shaimiev. There they overturned Radik Shaimiev and his elder brother Ayrat.

Lucky businessman

By the way, it's rare that a good athlete was also a great businessman. In fact, sports enthusiasm did not prevent Radik from creating a company "TAIF" and gaining the reputation of an intelligent, calculating entrepreneur. Initially, he was the general director of the company. He also owns the company "NIRA". Why is it so called? There is a version that the letters RA - on behalf of Radik, and NI - Nicola, this is the name of the son of Austrian entrepreneur Stanislav Koprivitsa. For many years (since 1992), this company has been exporting oil and petroleum products (worth half a billion dollars) from Tatarstan to other countries of the world. By the way, 19% of the assets of TAIF belong to NIRA, and another 5% were personally owned by Radik. There is also the opinion that Radik achieves success, only being in hothouse conditions, under the "wings" of his father. But to reach the international level (except cooperation with the Austrians) is weak for him.

Radik Shaimiev: family

For the first time he married quite young, after returning from the army. Parents probably were against this marriage, so when he married, he did not live with them, but, taking his wife, went to the house of her grandmother, who was on the outskirts of Kazan. The father nevertheless did not leave his son to live in a small apartment of 27 square meters. Meters and bought a newly-married couple more housing. However, the son and daughter-in-law thought that they received an apartment from the state in the center of the capital of the Tatar SSR. The marriage did not last long and soon fell apart. Years later, Radik Shaimiev married for the second time. From his second wife he had two children.

Best of the best: in the lists of "Forbes"

In 2010, the "TAIF" concern, which was controlled by Shaimiev Radik himself, was on the first place in the rating of Forbes magazine of the largest non-governmental companies of the Russian Federation, since the proceeds of "TAIF" for this year amounted to about 350 billion rubles. And this meant that, in comparison with the previous year, revenue increased by 85 billion rubles, and this is a fairly high result.

Awards

As you already know, he has a gold medal of the European auto-race champion (2003) - and this is one of his most significant awards. A year later, he was awarded the silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts for the authorship of creating the largest in the region cultural and entertainment center "Pyramid".
