Putty plasterboard before wallpapering

Many people are puzzled why they need plastering walls from plasterboard. After all, the surfaces are so smooth. However, professional builders call several reasons why plastering plasterboard is simply necessary before gluing the wallpaper.

First of all, the wallpaper is not permanently glued. One day they will want to change. If the walls are not plastered, the wallpaper will be removed from the plasterboard together with the top layer of gypsum.

If the wallpapering of the wallpaper is supposed to be on top already available, then there may be some difficulties. So, the old dark wallpaper can shine through from the new light.

Putty plasterboard also helps to hide the seams between the sheets. This is especially true when gluing pastel shades.

In order that from under the canvas no defects, transitions, old dark wallpapers and other flaws could be seen, the wall surfaces shpaklyuyut completely.

Mainly, this procedure will save on repairs in the future.

The puttying agent can be a dry mix on a cement or gypsum basis. It is mixed immediately before application to walls in a suitable container (bucket or flat bath, for example) with a construction mixer with water. In addition, the putty can be bought already ready for use.

The mixture can be starting (up to 2.5 mm) and finish (up to 1 mm). The first is used for a thorough leveling of the surface, the second - to eliminate minor defects.

From the tools to work, you need three spatulas. One small and two larger (40 and 60 cm). A small spatula is used to collect the mixture and apply it to 40 cm. The application to the walls is carried out at an angle of forty-five degrees to the surface. When leveling the mixture, the layer thickness should not be more than 1-2 mm. Residues from a large spatula are removed small.

Also, the finishing of the walls to the final version can also be done with a rubber spatula.

It is recommended to apply strokes "mutually perpendicular".

When plasterboard putty is made by a layer of 1 mm, and smears are applied from left to right, the tool should be held so that the right side of its web is located above the left (from the surface). At the same time, the layer is applied smoothly and smoothly to the left, and on the right - in the form of an influx, which is eliminated when laying the next strip.

When applying a mixture on the surface, as a rule, there are bands. They can later be easily removed using sandpaper.

Between the puttying layers, experts recommend applying a primer to the surface.

To create the first layer, use the starting mixture. The second (finishing) layer is applied with a large (60 cm) spatula. The technology does not change with this - from a small instrument the mixture is transferred to a large one, then to the surface. In this case, putty should be located approximately in the center of the spatula.

The mixture dries up during the day, as a rule. After that, grinding is carried out.

Experts advise to apply first coarse, and then fine-grained sandpaper. In this case, the main thing is that the putty plasterboard should not be rubbed to holes. If you start to see the base, you have to repeat everything again. After grinding, the surface should be smooth, smooth, without any roughness. Grinding is carried out after application and drying of both the first and second layers.

According to this technology is carried out and puttyping the ceiling of gypsum board.

After work, the entire instrument that has been used should be cleaned. While the mixture is fresh, this can easily be done in warm water. In time, it is necessary to clean and use the containers from the solution. Do not dispose of the remaining putty mix in the sewer, otherwise it may clog.
