Prehistoric predators are lords of all the Earth!

Evolution is a serious thing. At each stage of the formation of our planet in a certain period of time, there were some or other animals that, of course, were the elite of their era. Such were long considered prehistoric predators. About them and talk.

Vertebrate animals inhabit the Earth for more than 500 000 000 years! Almost half of this time on our planet was dominated by prehistoric predators - dinosaurs! Just think about these numbers! No other group of animals could survive in the history of the formation of the Earth for as long as it turned out in the ancient lizards. They were real masters!

Prehistoric predators - the crown of the creation of nature!

At one time, the ancient reptiles were the pinnacle of the development of all terrestrial organisms that inhabited our planet. Dinosaurs remained the lords of the land for more than 100,000,000 years! They were numerous and diverse monsters. No other creature could match them in strength and perfection! Today prehistoric reptilian predators do not cease to excite scientists and philistine minds: the process of their existence and the drama of extinction are of interest to the person from the moment he learned about the Great Age of Reptiles! Dinosaurs are studied very carefully, no other species of extinct animals is used in scientific circles so much more popular than the ancient lizards!

Prehistoric sea predators

Over time, the land became too crowded, and some reptiles began to develop water. Scientists have experimentally observed that reptiles throughout the history of their development from time to time returned to the water. This happened when more abundant food and security of existence awaited them there. For them it was not difficult, because life in the seas and oceans does not require reptiles absolutely no cardinal changes in the body and in physiology.

The earliest prehistoric predators, who mastered the water, were the anapsids - the mesosaurs of the Permian period. After them, primitive diapsides - tangosaurs, talatosaurs, claudiosaurs and hovazaurs - have left the water. The most recent group of aquatic reptiles are all known ichthyosaurs. These marine predators were simply perfectly adapted to life in any waters of our planet. In their form, ichthyosaurs resembled the most common fish or dolphins very much: a triangular head with long jaws elongated forward, a body flattened laterally, a caudal fin fin vertical and legs transformed into four ventral fins.

Lord of the Seas and Oceans The largest ever reptile lived in water was a certain lyoplvrodon. All other marine prehistoric predators were just fading before it ... The time of its existence fell on the Jurassic period. The size of this giant creature still has scientific disputes. Four huge flippers, a short and concave tail, and a very large and narrow head with huge teeth (about 30 cm in length) made him the unconditional ruler of all the seas and oceans of the ancient planet!
