BusinessStrategic planning

Planning - is it no-one's waste of time or an extremely important activity?

We all want to be happy. But what do you need to do for this? Scientists on this issue were divided into two camps. The first think that planning activity is the first step to success. The latter state completely the opposite, claiming that it is a senseless waste of such a valuable time. But what about the fact that planning is an integral part of the everyday routine of any successful person? Perhaps, they acquire this skill after they become happy owners of large sums of money?

Many modern people firmly believe that planning is an extremely boring occupation, which imposes a lot of unnecessary restrictions on a person. Therefore, they never try to think through their further actions. It's strange that later these people are surprised that life has turned out to be so fleeting.

But in fact planning is a skill that is not so easy to acquire. Unfortunately, most people simply do not know how to properly think about their future actions, focusing on their own long-term goals. But they will never admit it for anything, but rather insist that planning is the most boring and useless occupation. And people with such an attitude toward life control their firms! There is nothing surprising in that they soon declare themselves bankrupt.

Planning processes that occur in the enterprise - this is the basis of the basics of doing business. Only with the help of it can achieve the set goals, so it is one of the most important management functions. Planning is carried out at the enterprise in several stages.

1) Forecasting is a systematic analysis of the existing strengths and weaknesses, risks and opportunities in order to look into the future. To do this, it is important to determine three main dimensions: time (how many years ahead you need to make a prediction), direction (what trends are important to pay attention to) and the magnitude (what changes can occur).

2) The choice of a certain scenario of future developments is the stage at which the manager compares the alternatives and chooses the most advantageous option for the company. He does this on the basis of information about the resources available to the business entity in which a person works.

3) Formulation of current tasks and long-term goals - drawing up a plan, which defines the deadlines for the completion of individual tasks.

4) Approval of the work schedule and preparation of a program of actions. At this stage, the future of the enterprise is already definitively determined through careful analysis of all possible scenarios, as well as ways to achieve the set plans. The main thing is now to consistently implement the planned plan and hope that it was compiled by a competent manager who really understands what he is doing. Otherwise, planning only spoiled everything, because the analysis of the current state of affairs in this case was completely wrong. Yes, and such a valuable time wasted.
