What does the calendar plan include?

Any work activity requires an organization that includes clearly defined tasks with agreed terms for their implementation. This will allow to allocate labor resources as efficiently as possible and to obtain a result corresponding to the planned plans.

For these purposes, at any enterprise there is a calendar plan that is drawn up according to generally accepted norms. Practically all planning methods include such basic concepts as event, duration, work and date.

So, for example, the concept of "work" according to the calendar plan includes some activities that are necessary to achieve certain results. "Date" means indicating the exact time of completion of work, when the result should be obtained.

Drawing up a calendar plan requires a logical approach, and the receipt of results and the sequence of individual operations should be prescribed according to the existing technology of work.

The basic link between the prescribed actions should be based on the principle of "end-start", i.e. All work can begin only after the previous task is completed. This allows you to create a whole network of consecutive tasks.

It is worth noting that the project's calendar plan is an important key point in the organization of all work activities. The compiled plan must be approved by the management and contain the full schedule of the project. Thus, all the terms allocated for the fulfillment of each task necessary to achieve the final result are calculated in advance. Also, the schedule contains information about the need for resources (machinery, materials, people, etc.) and calculation of labor costs, including the material costs of the project.

Any project that goes into the implementation phase may not be implemented as expected. In such cases, check the progress of work with the completed schedule in the work plan. This allows you to find the reasons for the delay and make changes that will correspond to reality.

The calendar plan should be compiled by the project manager, but at the same time specialists are connected in this or that area (marketers, construction specialists, etc.). This allows you to structure the entire list of works on a hierarchical basis.

No less important is the definition of the relationship and duration of work. In the modern world, it is common to use the Gantt chart, which allows us to visualize the entire range of problems.

Moreover, it is necessary to create a resource model of the project, which includes information on the number of people needed to perform a specific task, as well as those responsible for the result of the work. In addition to human resources, certain activities may require transport, machinery, machinery, raw materials and consumables. This all has value and is entered in the "resources" column. In addition to the cost, this column includes other items, such as a calendar indicating the working shift in hours, costs (travel, etc.).

Thus, a well-designed schedule allows you to optimize the implementation of any project, as well as calculate all the necessary costs that may arise during the work. Clearly prescribed terms and tasks will allow to organize correctly all work activity and identify weaknesses. Savings in planning can serve as a reason for the company to incur serious financial losses, because an unprofessional and carelessly drawn up calendar schedule can lead to a number of mistakes and attraction of additional resources that will lead to a breach of the deadline for completion of work.
