Brief information about the park

In 1932 Pervomaisky Square was founded. Novosibirsk by that time received the status of an administrative center. Thanks to this event, the city authorities decided to split the park. The project of landscaping and landscaping of the park belongs to the architect V.M. Teitel.

But several years later, in 1935, he decided to add a large fountain to Pervomaisky Square, which will be framed with flower beds and vases. It was from that period that the image of the park was constantly changing. New bushes and trees were regularly planted on the territory of the square, they were decorated with themed flower beds and flower beds. This beautiful place is different from all the parks and squares of Novosibirsk in that there are a lot of sculptures here. The center of Novosibirsk literally came to life thanks to this green place.

What will surprise the city's guests?

Despite the fact that the square is small, it has two fountains:

  • Main: meets visitors at the exit to the Red Avenue;
  • For young visitors, architects conceived a small fountain, decorated with a bear cub.

Every year a symposium of stone sculptures takes place in the city. From this event, the city was given three marble sculptures that took Pervomaisky Square:

  • "King and queen".
  • "Peace".
  • "Love".

Each novosiberets in his photo album has a picture from the sculpture "Love". But this is not all the gifts! In 2000, the Armenian community gave the khachkar a park - a stone cross made of pink tuff. The sculptor and architect Aram Grigoryan designed it.

The City Development Department decided to place a wish tree in the park . Siberians and guests of the city on its branches attach ribbons on which desires are written.

The life of the park varies with each season of the year. In the summer, yoga and gymnastics of lovers of healthy lifestyles are practiced on the lawns, and in winter, cubic meters of clean snow are brought to the territory in order to hold the annual festival of "Snow sculpture".

Pervomaisky Square is protected from city noise by the building of the Museum of Local Lore. This is another amazing place to go.

The most popular sculpture in the square

As already mentioned above, the city annually hosts a festival of stone sculptures. It so happened that the works of the participants after the contest fall into the Pervomaisky Square. Novosibirsk thus replenishes its sculptural collections. "Love" belongs to the Novosibirsk - sculptor Sand Bortnik. Now, after the classic places for photo shoots (Opera House and Nikolskaya Chapel), newlyweds take pictures of this sculpture.

Surprisingly, this monument was so beloved by the townspeople that for its short existence the Siberians laid down city legends and myths about it. They believe that if a girl crawls through a hole in the sculpture, then her unmarried position will soon change, and she will find her family happiness. In addition, young people write on the sculpture of male and female names. Many believe that such an inscription has a spellbinding effect.
