The sculptural composition looks ambiguous, it is also worth noting that under the hem in the lady, the genitals are realistically and in detail. It was the latter fact that stirred up the public most of all. What can it be, if not a whore's monument? Around the monument there was a lot of gossip and speculation, the popular version was that the sculpture was originally intended to be installed in the local red light district, but as a result, permission for this was not received. However, in fact, the monument has nothing to do with prostitution.

What does this sculpture symbolize?

The monument that caused the public resonance is located near the office of the large bookmaker office "Sazka". The sculpture was installed back in 2001. It was the property and an advertising exhibit of the above-mentioned company and urged not to deny yourself the craving for excitement, but after the bankruptcy of "Sazka" the composition was removed from the usual place. It turns out that the so-called monument to a prostitute in Prague to fallen women has nothing to do with it? Most likely, yes, the official version of the owners of the sculptural composition - the lady persuades her husband not to bet anymore, but to take the money and go home. She is kneeling in front of him, but the man is unshakable. The original name of the sculpture is Pencil Please ("Give a pencil!"). You can see that the player himself does not notice anything around, and his free hand is frozen in a characteristic gesture asking for a stationery to write. However, why the sculptures did not put on the girl's panties, remains a mystery. Perhaps, underwear of his wife, a gambling husband already managed to lose in some other bet?

"Monument to a prostitute" in Prague - a composition of two figures: a man sitting on a bench, and a woman at his feet. The upper surface of the bench is covered with large inscriptions calling for play and win. Next to the man is also a bundle of money, these are large bills of 5,000 kroons, respectively, depicting a fortune. In one hand, a gambler is holding a weekly printed edition of the bookmaker's office and her lottery ticket. Women's sculpture should portray utter despondency and sadness. The husband is deaf to the requests of his wife to stop, he continues to play.

Legends for tourists

In the whole of the Czech Republic, the "monument to a prostitute" in Prague became famous not only because of its general meaning and form. According to many, the man in this composition is too suspiciously similar to Vaclav Havel in his youth (former president of the state). Customers and owners of the monument claim that any similarity is an accident. It is rumored that it was considered a good sign to climb the bronze heroine of sculpture under the skirt "for luck". However, this was just a rally for visitors. The monument was the property of the bookmaker's office, and its protection prevented any inappropriate actions in relation to the sculpture.
