Mikhail Krug is a well-known author of the Russian chanson and one of the most famous natives of Tver among all our contemporaries. This talented musician died tragically in 2002. Despite all-Russian fame and recognition, Mikhail Vladimirovich Vorobiev (known more under the pseudonym Michael Krug) was buried in his homeland, in the city of Tver. Most residents of the Tver region are proud of their famous compatriot. In the same city, a monument to Mikhail Krug is also installed.
Great man - a decent memory!
Immediately after the death of the Russian chanson king, his relatives created a fund to raise funds for the installation of a memorial sculpture. Supervised this project, Mikhail's older sister - Olga Medvedeva. In 2003, a place in Tver was already chosen, on which a sculpture should be installed. And on December 19 of the same year, even laid a memorial stone in the foundation of the future statue. But the monument to Mikhail Krug appeared much later. The sketch of the future sculptural composition is the creation of the producer of the last album of the Circle, Vadim Tsyganov. The main sculptor of the project is Andrei Smirnov. The monument to Mikhail Krug was inaugurated in 2007, it was installed on the site of the initial laying of the memorial stone. Interestingly, near the monument there is no sign or inscription that represents the sculpture to the viewer.
