Maniac Onoprienko Anatoly - Ukrainian serial killer

Anatoly Onoprienko is a serial Ukrainian maniac, who is often compared to Chikatilo. On the bloody account of the murderer more than 50 victims. The crimes were revealed, and the guilt of the maniac is fully proved. Reply to the question of why the maniac Onoprienko committed all these crimes, the investigation was not succeeded.

Childhood future maniac

Tolya Onoprienko was born on July 25, 1959 in the Zhytomyr region (the village of Laski). The Anatolian family did not differ much from its neighbors. Father participated in the Great Patriotic War, after which he worked and received two convictions for minor crimes. Tolya had an older brother, Valentin, whose mother worked on the collective farm. My father drank a lot and left the family when his youngest son turned 1 year old. In 1962, the mother died of heart failure.

The first time after the death of his mother, Anatoly was brought up by his grandparents, but was soon sent to the orphanage. Later, the maniac will tell that he was aware of the situation and was offended by the living father and brother who paid attention to their own families. In the orphanage, the boy's life was terrible, he was teased and beaten by older pupils. Already in the walls of the government house the future maniac Onoprienko showed excessive cruelty. The grown up Anatoly began to beat his comrades in the orphanage, sometimes used sharp objects, in addition, he was seen in petty theft.

After the release from the institution, the future offender spent some time with his father, who managed to marry a third time. Then he left, but a few years later he returned and tried to establish relations. However, my father did not want to talk to him.

Anatoly Onoprienko (maniac): biography and personal life

Anatoly could not boast of a good education. In the orphanage, he graduated from only 8 classes, and then entered the Malin Forest Technical School. In this educational institution the future serial killer by some miracle managed to hold out for a couple of years. Onoprienko did not show interest in learning. Being a student of a technical school, Anatoly managed to drink regularly, get involved in fights and steal. After learning two courses, the young man went to the army, where he could not win respect among his colleagues. Later Onoprienko will recall that during the service he was regularly subjected to beatings and bullying.

Cardinally changed the life of Anatoly after the demobilization. Returning from the army, the future maniac could enter the nautical school. He could make a good career: during the service of the sailor many countries had time to see, had a stable and good income, was not deprived of the attention of the girls. But in 1986 he had to leave this service for good, the reason for that was problems with his superiors.

After this event, the future maniac Onoprienko once again tried to start a normal life. He got a job in the fire department, got married, a son was born in marriage. At that time, many friends envied this family: Anatoly was an exemplary member of the CPSU, joined the union of hunters and fishermen, was well treated of his wife and son. Everything changed in 1989: the head of the family just once disappeared in an unknown direction, taking all the savings from home.

The beginning of the bloody career of a maniac

In the winter of 1989, Anatoly Onoprienko met in the city of Dolgoprudny with a local resident Sergei Rogozin. Quickly enough, men became comrades. Sergei served in Afghanistan, at the time of this fateful meeting he worked on a collective farm, had a wife and a young daughter. Friends opened a common business in the sphere of trade, and each day their relationship became more and more intimate.

Suddenly, Anatoly began to offer his comrade to start earning more not quite legal way. The idea of Onoprienko consisted in robbery on the route of cars stopped for overnight. Rogozin hesitated for a while, but he was so much attached to his friend that he could not refuse.

The first offense was committed on June 14, 1989. Anatoly spent time planning, he wanted to find a parked car and rob it. His accomplice at this time should slowly go along the highway and, waiting for the signal, pick up the accomplice. Under the condition of any problems, Onoprienko allowed his friend to escape from the scene of the crime. A suitable car - "Lada" with a trailer - the criminals found in Sinelnikovsky district. Perhaps, it was on that night for the first time in his life that Onoprienko's maniac completely revealed his dark essence. Anatoly went "on business" with the hard drive, in the car the spouses slept. Onoprienko did not attempt to steal, but shot the man asleep. His wife, he forced to get out of the car and also killed when she tried to call for help. The body of the murdered criminal was hidden in a forest belt, he drove the car, then carefully searched the accomplice and burned it.

Rogozin was in real shock from what had happened. He was ready to become an accomplice in the theft, but not a double murder. Noticing the mood of his comrade, Onoprienko hinted to him that if he did not remain silent, the next corpses would be his wife and daughter.

Murders in Ukraine continue

A month after the first murder, Zhitomir maniac Onoprienko forces his accomplice Rogozhin again to go to the track. The crime was committed on July 16, 1989. Criminals acted in the same way as for the first time. Their victims were another married couple. It was pleasantly surprised Onoprienko extraction - the husband and wife carried with them many valuable things and a large amount of money. Sergei Rogozhin was very worried about them with a friend of criminal activity, while Anatoly himself showed no signs of anxiety and seemed, on the contrary, was very pleased.

The month of August came, and Onoprienko invited his friend to go to Odessa, in order to sell the loot. Having agreed to this trip, Rogozhin again became a participant in another robbery with mass murder. This time, Anatoly chose a car, in which there was a family of five. All of them he killed, and then he intended to burn the corpses. Noticing that one of the victims still stirs, the maniac cold-bloodedly finished off her hunting knife.

After the crime, Onoprienko almost got caught. The offender was traveling on a stolen car, which in its appearance aroused suspicions of the traffic police. However, after a short chase, Anatoly managed to escape.

Mental torment and immigration

Ukrainian maniac Onoprienko very badly suffered the killing of five people. Later, he will say that he sympathized with his own victims, but he was afraid to leave witnesses. The criminal alleged that he sometimes thought about suicide. At the same time, he was very much afraid of himself becoming a victim of robbers or murderers.

After some time, Anatoly acquired fake documents and went on a trip to Europe. Visiting several countries, Onoprienko stopped in Germany. Several times he was deported to Ukraine, but on new forged documents he immediately returned. Anatoly worked in Germany as a kitchen worker, dishwasher, gardener and tried to apply for political asylum, but was refused. Then Onoprienko came up with a "brilliant" idea: he decided that if he went to a local prison, he would certainly get citizenship.

The criminal began to engage in petty theft, twice he managed to visit European prisons (in Germany and Austria). However, it was not possible to change his citizenship. Four years later, Anatoly Onoprienko was once again deported to Ukraine.

The murderer returns to his homeland

In 1994, after another deportation, the serial killer decides to remain in Ukraine. The situation in the country at this time was very difficult. Inflation is flourishing around the world, getting a job is very difficult, the crime rate is high. Onoprienko had no savings, was afraid of arrest and felt very tense.

On May 31, 1994, Anatoly was detained at the station. Already in the office, he was surprised to realize that no one suspected him of committing crimes. The reason for the arrest was the inadequate behavior of the detainee. Police officers did not even guess that Anatoly Onoprienko was a maniac.

The suspicious man was sent to a psychiatric clinic, where he stayed for three months. During the inpatient treatment, Anatoly several times made shoots, but each time he was returned back. After completing the course of therapy, the patient was discharged with a diagnosis of schizophrenia.

Onoprienko once again went to Germany, and then came to his brother Valentine, who lived in the Zhytomyr region. The relative met Anatoly cordially and allowed himself some time to live at home.

The second series of Ukrainian murders

Onoprienko could not get a job. At the same time, he was literally strangled by envy of the wealth of those around him. He knew only one proven way to get rich fast. And more often I thought about returning to a criminal profession.

In 1995, Anatoly decided - he stole from his friend a hunting rifle, a knife, cartridges and some accompanying outfit. The perpetrator himself remade the TOZ-34R. Very soon, in the autumn of 1995, the killer again went on a bloody hunt. For a couple of months he killed 7 people. The arrogance and cynicism of the criminal were striking. Anatoly could spend several hours on the crime scene. He was not afraid of anyone at all. Murders of steel for the perpetrator of a full-fledged alternative to normal work. Usually he committed murder of the whole family, after which he spent a week or two "resting", and then went in search of new victims.

Course of investigation

In mid-January 1996, investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine finally became convinced that mass killings with subsequent robberies are committed by one person. All similar cases were combined into a series. But Anatoly Onoprienko is a maniac who completely lost his head from his impunity. The crimes committed by him are becoming increasingly terrible. Several of his victims he raped, during one of the attacks killed a three-month-old child. The murderer continued to commit crimes and at the same time left virtually no evidence.

A series of murders caused popular unrest and a real panic among the peaceful population of Ukraine. Several times innocent people were arrested as suspects. What is remarkable, Onoprienko himself was detained three times, and each time he was released very quickly.

The arrest of the Zhitomir maniac

On April 14, 1996, due to the presence of indirect evidence, law enforcement officers received an arrest warrant for Anatoly Onoprienko. The criminal at that time lived in the city of Yavorov with his next civil wife, Anna. During the search in the apartment, women found a huge number of stolen things. There was no doubt in the fault of the suspect. None of the people who knew him personally could not believe that Onoprienko was a maniac. Photos of victims and places of committing crimes terrify any sane person, while Anatoly looked perfectly normal and good-natured, knew how to make a pleasant impression.

Onoprienko was initially charged with 40 murders. When the criminal began to give evidence, he confessed to committing 52 crimes. Anatoly hit investigators with an ideal memory, talking about his deeds, he often mentioned small and minor details.

Court and sentence

The case of the serial killer Onoprienko occupied 99 volumes. The trial of the murderer was started on November 23, 1998. This case caused a wide public response. The defendant had to be carefully protected from the enraged mob, which demanded lynching. Together with Onoprienko in the dock was Sergei Rogozin. Anatoly himself gave his accomplice during the investigation. The court found Onoprienko guilty of committing 52 murders and sentenced him to the death penalty. Sergei Rogozin was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment. Anatoly fully acknowledged his guilt, but from the last word he refused.

When the verdict was announced in the courtroom, many journalists were present who were interested in Onoprienko (maniac). A documentary film, shot later about this criminal, tells how Anatoly met the announcement of the punishment chosen for him. Onoprienko showed the judge an indecent gesture, and then drew a cross on his own forehead with his finger.

Changing the punishment

At the time of the completion of the trial Anatoly managed to celebrate his 39th birthday. The killer of death himself was not afraid, and even to a certain extent wished. But his lawyer tried to appeal and mitigate the sentence. The situation was solved by an absurd coincidence. In 2000, the President of Ukraine signed a moratorium on the prohibition of the death penalty. Later, Leonid Kuchma personally attempted to obtain permission in the form of an exception to execute Onoprienko's sentence, but was refused. Because of this change in legislation, the death penalty for the murderer of 52 people was replaced by life imprisonment.

Life and death in prison

In the prison cell alone, the serial maniac Onoprienko, whose photo had not left the front pages of Ukrainian newspapers for a long time, stayed about 17 years. There are rumors that several attempts were made against the killer. Anatoly himself behaved quietly, read a lot, refused to work. Communicate with journalists categorically refused. Only occasionally did the murderer begin to philosophize and tell strange stories. Even during the interrogations, he tried to convince the investigators that he hears voices in his head that order to kill.

On August 27, 2013, Anatoly Onoprienko died of heart failure. Relatives of the maniac never visited him in prison, they did not want to organize a funeral.

Mentions in mass culture

Terrible serial crimes forever enter the history of world criminalistics. It is to this category that the murders, committed by Onoprienko, are committed. The victims of this criminal are entire families, including very young children. About this maniac filmed a lot of documentaries. The most famous of them is the Onoprienko Cross (from the series "Pure Confession", NTV). The history of the criminal was more than once covered in print media.

During the imprisonment of many journalists, Anatoly Onoprienko (the maniac) continued to be interested. The film about the life of the bloody monster behind bars could not be removed, but the criminal did give several interviews.
