In the 2000's. The airport again began to serve passenger air transportation. In 2004, a state-owned enterprise was established on the basis of the airport, which was named Lipetsk Airport. Already in 2006, thanks to the construction of the instrumental landing system, the aerodrome began to receive aircraft with poor visibility, and all divisions of the enterprise were connected by a fiber-optic communication line. In 2008, the airport received an admission for the maintenance of international passenger flights. However, the first international flight from Lipetsk to Milan took place in 7 years - in 2015.
