How to make "Oreo" cookies yourself

Cookies "Oreo" was born in the US in 1912. It immediately won such popularity among Americans that its name became a household name. The fact is that "Oreo" is two biscuits of black (namely anthracite, not coffee) colors, fastened together with white vanilla cream. Therefore, among African Americans, this word was used to refer to those immigrants from Africa who wanted to please the white people too much, to distance themselves from "their own". However, when along with the classic taste began to produce biscuits Oreo with a cream of other colors, the nominal value was forgotten.

At the beginning of the XXI century, the production of popular cookies was established in the Old World, namely in Spain. It has become more affordable for Europeans, but, alas, not for Russians. Buy "Oreo" biscuits in Moscow can only be through online stores on order, whereas in Ukraine it is sold in every kiosk. How to explain this phenomenon? Maybe the civil service saw in the cookies a danger to the health of Russians? Or is this a kind of protection of the domestic manufacturer?

However, let's not fool ourselves with the problem of where to buy "Oreo" cookies, but prepare it ourselves. Moreover, there is nothing complicated in this. Maybe it will not turn out to be as black as a branded product, but not less tasty. To achieve such a deep color, making the tongue scary blue, cocoa for the dough is specially processed. Although this is only a marketing move, the color does not affect the taste. And self-cooking cookies will save us from the antioxidants E304 and E306, ammonium bicarbonate, soy lecithin and other nonsense.

In order to make the "Oreo" cookies so that it was almost like in the original, do not be stingy and replace the ingredients with cheaper ersatz. Only high-quality butter - 200-gram pack. If you do not have powdered sugar, grind 250g of sand into a powder in a coffee grinder. From a packet of oil, separate 125 grams, heat it to room temperature and start whipping. Gradually pour 100 g of powdered sugar and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix 125 g of flour, 50 g of cocoa powder, a pinch of baking powder and a touch of salt. Pour it into a homogeneous oil-sugar mass. In the beginning, it will seem to you that nothing can be made of this solid crumb. However, diligently diligently, and your work will be rewarded.

Put the bun in the refrigerator for half an hour. Then, between two layers of food film, roll the dough into a thin layer (about 3 mm thick). Shape out the mugs and place them on a baking sheet covered with cooking paper. Heat the oven at 175 ° C. Place the baking tray there and bake "Oreo" cookies for about 10 minutes. The main thing is not to overdo it. Although at first biscuits seem damp to you - it's too painful they will be soft. And as soon as they cool down, they will harden.

Cream to cook even easier. Beat the remaining oil, sugar powder and a little vanilla extract in a homogeneous mass. With a knife, apply the cream on the back of one biscuit and cover it with the other. Try also home cookies "Oreo" with a cream of mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar and white chocolate.
