Jameson - whiskey from the heart of Ireland

Today we will talk about the history of the brand Jameson - whiskey from the very heart of Ireland.

Whiskey is an alcoholic forty-degree drink with a rich aroma and a deep aftertaste. There are also more robust species, up to sixty degrees. In its production, various types of grain are used: corn, rye, wheat or barley. The traditional countries-producers of whiskey are Ireland and Scotland. A strong drink from these regions is highly valued in the world, especially such famous brand as Jameson. Whiskey, the price of which can vary greatly depending on the manufacturer and the aging time, remains to this day the most popular strong alcoholic beverage in the British Isles.

History of Jameson

Ireland in the second half of the eighteenth century experienced an unprecedented economic recovery. Against its background, the production of alcoholic beverages also grew. Many clever entrepreneurs quickly turned their attention to this industry, among others John Johneson. Mr. Dzhemeson was not a novice in this matter and had an idea of what a good distillery should be, and also how it should be managed. After almost a year of thinking, John decided to open his production at Dublin Boon Street.

Four sons in the family Dzhemeson grew up and became irreplaceable helpers. The second son, named after his father John, after his wedding became a business partner. The family company, which received the new name John Jameson & Son, earned a new lease, and soon became the leader among all the viscourts in Ireland.

After the death of 83-year-old Jameson, the company completely passes to John the Younger. Around the same time, Irish whiskey is gaining popularity on the foggy Albion and bypasses its Scottish counterpart. First, because of its softer and light taste. Secondly, because of well-established marine logistics with neighboring England - the main consumer of Jameson whiskey. By the end of the nineteenth century, the family business of Dzhemesonov became the largest employer in all of Dublin. Jameson whiskey became recognizable outside of Britain - in all of its colonies and in America. Having managed to survive the economic crisis, the dry law and the Second World War, the case of the Jemesons thrives to this day. To preserve production, John Jameson & Son teamed up with other major Irish whiskey manufacturers. Despite the transfer of production from the capital to the South of the country, the legendary brand was preserved along with all the technologies.
