Usually a hunger pause is recommended - from two to five days, based on the reasons that triggered pancreatitis. The diet after this will be quite tough - otherwise it will be extremely difficult to recover from an attack. Follow it not only in the hospital, but at home. Depending on the severity of the disease and the causes of pancreatitis, the diet should be observed for several months or even a year after the disease.

The diet for pancreatitis (menu) is aimed at minimizing the secretion of the pancreas and ensuring its rest. It completely excludes fried, smoked, pickles and marinades, various canned food. Under a strict ban, there are any alcoholic beverages. The permitted list of products for those diagnosed with pancreatitis (Diet 5) is low-fat meat or fish, cereals (except millet), dried white bread (black is forbidden!), Sour-milk products, stewed vegetables. Fish and beef or chicken are boiled, then chopped. You can also cook from these products steamed burgers. Well-ground mashed potato puree, pasta. Liquid cereals are cooked from the cereals. The so-called mucous soups can be prepared on the first one: the cereals are cooked until boiling, then they are rubbed through a sieve. Value is represented by the mucus formed during cooking, which protects the stomach and intestines.

Drink allowed boiling wild rose or black currant and weakly boiled tea.
