How to produce melon growing

Many gardeners (especially beginners) grow melons due to certain difficulties. They often face a lack of fruit, low yields, cultural diseases and other problems. Of course, we are talking about more severe climatic conditions, since in the southern regions, melons are not particularly difficult to grow.

The most common method of cultivation, which guarantees the ripening of fruits, is planting the plant through seedlings. To do this, pick the most early ripening varieties.

Then, not earlier than 30-40 days before transferring the shoots to the open ground, it is necessary to place the seeds in the prepared glasses with the ground. Before planting, they should be germinated by wrapping them in a damp cloth for a day. It is useful to make soak using special EM drugs.

After planting melon seedlings in the glasses, the cultivation is carried out by performing regular watering (every two days). The same capacity should be covered with a film, which will accelerate the germination of seeds for several days. Ideal option would be the organization of lighting. It is possible to judge the preparedness of seedlings for transfer to the ground when 3-4 leaves appear in the melon. Strongly delay the process of transplantation should not be, since the plant needs to adapt to new conditions.

To produce melon growing under the film, it is best to take the varieties "Kharkov early" or "Krinichanka". Usually the seedlings are ready for further cultivation after 25-30 days. Overgrown shoots very badly take root, so do not hesitate. During planting, the temperature of the soil should not be below 16C degrees at a depth of ten centimeters.

It is very good to produce melon growing on steam beds, equipped with a film shelter with small dimensions. On an ordinary square meter, two plants are placed, which are tied to the trellis after three days. Perform watering followed by water, which heats up to a temperature of at least 27 degrees. It should be noted that only the soil is moistened, the plant itself should not be watered. After each moistening, loosen the soil between the rows.

Before the melon starts to bear fruit, the temperature of the air in the greenhouse should not fall on sunny days below 30 ° C, in cloudy weather less than 25 ° C. Fruits are formed on loops from 1 to 3 orders of magnitude. Side hinges need to be plucked over 5 or 6 leaves, while on the plant leave no more than 5 fruits. When the ovary begins to form, the air temperature under the film should be increased to 50 degrees, in cloudy weather - up to 30 C.

Growing melons produce with the addition of mineral fertilizers, which are made every two weeks. At the beginning of flowering, the plant should be removed from the film, so that the melon is ventilated and opened to pollen the flowers with bees. Growing melons can be produced and by means of seeds placed immediately in the ground. This is also done under film shelter, a week before the transplant transfer. When the first sheet appears, perform thinning, leaving in the hole no more than two sprouts. Further care is similar to the first option.
