Seeding of pepper on seedlings

Pepper has become the same familiar vegetable culture in our garden areas, like, for example, potatoes or carrots. Although this plant requires careful care, if you want to get a harvest of your own pepper. The plant is very thermophilic. It loves heat even more than cucumbers or tomatoes. But this is not an obstacle for those wishing to have their own grown peppers. Gardeners can grow pepper seedlings in an inadequately warm climate in Russia. For this, pepper is first planted in seedlings in the winter, and then transferred to greenhouses. But this is a fairly time-consuming process. Let's consider all the stages in order.

Determining the timing of sowing

Seeding of pepper on seedlings depends on the time of planting the seedlings in the main place. Usually they are planted on average 65-70 days prior to harvesting, it is better to sow in February. Plus, you need to consider the state of your greenhouse, the weather conditions, the frequency of visiting your garden site. If you make seeding pepper seeds for seedlings early, then seedlings in pots will outgrow, and fruits will begin to form. This will deplete the plant. Then, planting such seedlings in the ground, you are unlikely to wait for the fruits by the deadline. And perhaps, the seedlings can simply wither away, unable to adapt to the new conditions.

Seeding of pepper on seedlings and care of seedlings

Usually sowing peppers for seedlings is produced in wooden or plastic boxes. One can use disposable cardboard pots. Then it will be easier to plant seedlings in the ground. For soil, use a nutritious mixture. It can be made from a mixture of humus, ash and sand: a bucket of humus is taken in a glass of ash and sand. Pour the mixture with boiled water (2 liters of water), and then steamed on the fire. When the mixture cools down, you can lay the seeds in prepared grooves at a distance of 2-3 centimeters. Then sprinkle the grooves with the ground. Cover the box with a plastic wrap. When the first seedlings appear, remove the film. Be sure to move the box to a sunny place. Make sure there are no drafts in the room where the seedlings are.

A month after the sunrise, the first leaves will appear. At this time, you need to water the seedlings once a week with water at room temperature. Excess moisture can cause damage to the plant, so observe the interval between waterings. When growing pepper seedlings, carefully monitor the lighting. With a lack of light, the shoots stop growing. At the same time they begin to rot roots. Decay of roots can contribute to the cold sills on which there are boxes with seedlings. It will be better if in a day you turn each side of the box one by one to the sun, so that the sprouts do not curve in one direction. If lighting is not enough, illuminate the box with fluorescent lamps. Otherwise buds on the first brush will not be laid.

Pike seedling pepper

Picks are planting shoots. This is done after the seedlings are strong. In the future, this procedure will help to strengthen the roots of seedlings.

Pepper sprouts dive after the appearance of 2 - 3 leaves. Before picking, you need to water the seedlings. Then, after the expiration of two hours, sprouts are transplanted into small pots. You can use cut plastic bottles. In the pots should be the same nutritional mixture as when sowing seeds. Pour warm water on this soil. After you can plant the seedlings on pots. Do this carefully so as not to damage the tender roots of the pepper. Germs are digested to cotyledonous leaves, it does not go deeper, otherwise the time of obtaining the first harvest will be delayed. Remember, it is during the picking process that the final root system of pepper is laid.

In late May - early June, grown-up seedlings are transplanted into an open ground or a greenhouse. Thus, sowing of pepper on seedlings takes place. Big to you harvests!
