How to restore the MBR in Vista?

Many of you have faced the inability to launch your operating system. This is expressed in the termination of the boot process and the appearance of an error message. In such cases, users are often deprived of the ability to enter the safe mode using the F8 key. So, for this reason, I'll talk about how to restore the MBR in Windows 7 and Vista, because it is the culprit of all ills.

People who do not know how to do this usually resort to reinstalling the system. Of course, this will fix the problem, and you will all be booted, but in this case you will have to reinstall and configure all the programs, not to mention that you will again mess with all the drivers. And there is a risk of losing important data. It is much easier to repair the MBR. Windows 7 and Vista provide this procedure.

As already mentioned above, the main cause of the problem with the download is the violation of the MBR. But now let's talk in more detail about how to restore the MBR in Windows 7 or Vista. Take the installation disc or USB flash drive with your operating system. Boot from this or that information carrier in the same way as when installing the OS, select the language and activate the item "System Restore". As soon as you do this, the search for available distributions on your hard drive will start immediately. At the end of the process, you will see your installed operating system. Select it and click the "Next" button.

After that, a menu consisting of several items appears. In order to restore the MBR in Windows 7 and Vista, we must choose one of the three following items. The rest for us are of no interest. The first one is the startup recovery, in which the system loader and its files are restored. The second is system recovery, which occurs from points assigned by the user himself or automatically during important changes. Well, the command line, which allows us to carry out the procedure we are interested in manually.

Now in order. Since the first method is the simplest, we'll start with it. When you start the first process, the diagnostics will begin. After some time, we will see whether it was possible to restore the MBR using this method in Windows 7 or Vista. Your problem will either be resolved or will remain the same.

You can try to recover the second item. Start it and click the "Next" button. Select the last of all recovery points and click "Continue" again. In the next window, confirm the action with the "Done" button, after agreeing with all warnings. Now it only remains to reboot. If this procedure did not bring the desired result, then it's time to move on to the third point.

Run the command prompt and type the following command: Bootrec.exe / FixMbr. This will allow Vista and Seven to restore the MBR (Windows XP provides a slightly different procedure). If you want to restore the bootloader, then type Bootrec.exe / FixBoot. If you need to restore the boot of multiple systems, type Bootrec.exe / RebuildBcd. After each operation, restart the computer. If the problem is not hardware, you should get it. On this I have everything.
