Potted flower: description, species, names, features of care and cultivation
Room flowers always performed a number of functions. Mistresses decorate their homes with a variety of plants. At least one potted flower can be found in any home. As a maximum - whole greenhouses are created in the apartments, rare buds are blossoming and exotic forms of ficus and palm trees are pleasing to the eye.
Potted plants in the house
Flowers in the house perform a number of functions: do not forget that their green leaves are involved in photosynthesis and produce oxygen, which is vital to man. Flowering specimens exude a natural pleasant smell - it's much better and safer than aggressive air fresheners.
It is not correct to believe that in order for plants to blossom and grow in the house, special conditions are needed. On the contrary, absolutely for every room, even the darkest and northern, you can pick up a potted flower that will feel comfortable.
Flowering plants are suitable for bright sun. The overwhelming majority of them need direct sunlight. Magnificently on the windowsills look phalaenopsis - this is an extremely unpretentious variety of orchids, which should be watered once a week. The more sun, the larger will be their buds and more often will come the flowering period.
For dark rooms fit ficuses that do not require special care and are easily avoided without the sun. Their huge variety will allow you to choose the best option that will complement the interior and enliven it with a beautiful green color.
Ornamental-deciduous plants
These are specimens with bright leaves with exotic coloring. As a rule, they bloom very rarely, and their buds do not represent a particular value - they are rather nondescript and inferior in beauty to the plant itself. A potted flower with decorative leaves is able to diversify any interior and become a bright accent.
Among the most popular such plants is found aglaonema. Its leaves can have from two to ten colors and shades. It comes from tropical Indian forests. Its leaves can have white stripes, and can be decorated with bright pink, yellow, purple flowers.
Another plant - alocasia, came to the counters of flower shops from the Amazonian jungle. The leaves of the alocacia, depending on its type, may differ in size and shades, but all of them are distinguished by a rich green color with bright bands. Alocasia quickly grows and fits perfectly into the interior.
It should be spicy when breeding ornamental species: most of them are poisonous. In the wild, this color warns animals about the dangers of eating plants and serves as a protection for the latter.
Flowering plants
This is a classic for breeding at home flowers. Potted plants with large, elegant flowers and buds will decorate any window sill or table, the main thing is to choose the right arrangement so that the green pet has enough light.
The most popular flowering indoor specimens are azaleas, roses, violets, geraniums, hydrangeas. They can be found in the collection of almost every florist. Flowering plants are considered to be whimsical - in fact they just need enough sun and regular watering in combination with good soil.
Violets are one of the most unpretentious flowers. Many of them collect - there are hundreds of varieties. In addition, they occupy little space and look great in large quantities and beautiful pots.
Azaleas and roses are considered queen among this category - they can bloom almost without interruption. They are rightfully the pride of the home greenhouse, bright inflorescences make guests admire the mastery of their mistress. The name of potted flowers decorating the windowsills, at least one, is known to everyone who has at least once cultivated.
Cacti
If the apartment has a real "sugar", on the windowsills it's very hot, and the air is dry, you can resort to growing cacti. This potted flower does not even require watering - it is enough to fill the pan with water once a week. In the bright sun, a gorgeous flower will soon appear on the ordinary-looking cactus body.
Looks spectacular Cereus of Peru. It has a ribbed stem and sharp hard spines that reach a length of a few centimeters. Looks like echinocactus, but it has a more round shape, and from each hole for the spines there is not one needle, but several, having an arcuate shape.
Loaches and creepers
Crocheted plants are universal for decorating arches, shelves, walls and cornices. They can have a variety of forms: from medium-sized ivy to huge monsters, resting on the ceiling and having leaves, the diameter of which can reach one meter.
The most classic example is ivy - the maple leaves grow very quickly and easily fill the space. Traditionally, ivy decorates the kitchen: a potted flower is installed on a suspended flower pot, from where it spreads in a given direction.
Another spectacular liana is passionflower. It can also decorate the design in the interior, or you can let it create your own. In the pot, an arch is set up, along which the leaves of this plant are distributed. For flowering, it is necessary to ensure sufficient light and balanced irrigation. Twice a year an exotic and original flower appears on the passionflower. This liana grows very quickly, therefore it periodically needs to be shaped, cutting off unnecessary leaves. With the help of vines, you can also create compositions from potted flowers, combining them with other plants.
Home Trees
For those who love the scale and prefer large plants, there are special home trees. The most common are the Nolina, also known as the elephant's leg for its shape, hoveya, dracaena and other palms. Nolin effectively looks in the cabinets and living rooms - on a thick high trunk is a massive massive crown of thin long leaves hanging down. Despite the fact that this is a full-fledged tree, it also falls into the category of "potted flowers". Moscow offers a wide range of such specimens in its floristic stores.
The peculiarities of palm content are that they do not require significant care, while a priori look luxurious and rich, completing the image of the interior.
