How to cook crab sticks in batter?

Crab sticks are a snack ready for use. However, our culinary specialists, as a rule, do not seek easy ways and come up with new ways of using this product. Today, no one is surprised by the variety of salads prepared with the use of crab sticks. But the second dish or hot snack from this product is still rarely prepared. Let's fix this situation and try to make crab sticks in batter.

It is worth noting that this dish can be served not only "from the heat, with heat", but also cooled as an original snack. So, to make crab sticks in batter, we need to have in stock a two hundredgram package of crab sticks, half a glass (maybe a little more) of flour, a couple of eggs, a little (50 ml) of milk, a lemon. It will also take a little greens (dill, parsley) and pepper. For frying, we need about a glass of vegetable oil.

To cook delicious crab sticks in batter, they must be defrosted beforehand (if a freshly frozen product is used) and marinated. To do this, unfrozen sticks spread in a bowl, sprinkled with salt, pepper, chopped greens. Now take the lemon and cut it into two halves. From the first squeeze the juice and send it to a bowl with crab sticks, and the second - cut into very thin mugs and put on top of the sticks. We remove the bowl in the refrigerator, where our sticks will be marinated for half an hour.

In the meantime, let's prepare the batter. To do this, break the eggs, carefully separate the proteins and put them in the cold. Stir yolks with milk, salt and flour. And before you start the frying, whisk the proteins into the foam and add them to the dough.

Pickled crab sticks are dipped in cooked dumplings and quickly fried in large quantities of oil until a beautiful ruddy crust is formed.

Of course, the above recipe "Crab sticks in batter" can be modified to your liking. For example, replace the usual batter with a batter cooked on beer. To make a beer batter, you need to divide a couple of eggs into yolks and squirrels. Whisk the whites, and mix the yolks with salt, beer and water (take a beer and water for 70 ml). Then pour into a bowl of yolks about a glass of flour, making sure that the dough for consistency was like thick sour cream. That is, it should not drain off the spoon, but rather slowly "crawl". Then gently enter the half-finished batter whipped with proteins.

And if there is time and desire, then it is worth preparing such an interesting dish as stuffed crab sticks in batter. On a 200-gram package of crab sticks, we need about 200 grams of cheese (you can take the usual processed cheese curds), a little mayonnaise and a couple cloves of garlic.

First we prepare the filling, for this we will grate the cheese on a fine grater, mix it with chopped garlic and mayonnaise. We need the mass to be thick enough, so it's not worth using much mayonnaise.

In the meantime, crab sticks should be thawed, and then gently turned into a rectangular formation. Put the filling in the middle of the deployed rod, smooth it and roll it again, giving the stick its original shape.

Finished stuffed sticks should be dipped in the batter (regular or cooked on beer) and fried in deep frying. To our dish was not too greasy, you should lay out the fried ready-made sticks for paper towels, then the excess oil will be absorbed into the paper. This dish can be fried in a frying pan in a small amount of vegetable oil, but then during the frying the product will need to be turned over so that the dough evenly browns.

And to turn our crab sticks in batter to a delicious dish, it is worth preparing a sauce for them. For example, sour-garlic. To do this, you need to peel and chop 1-3 cloves of garlic (the amount of garlic is determined depending on the size of the denticles and the desired gravity of the sauce). Then add the garlic in sour cream (200 grams), there also pour finely chopped greens and pour a teaspoon of lemon juice. Sauce salt, pepper and stir well. Alternatively, you can use soy sauce or ready-made adzhika instead of lemon juice, but then salt should not be added to the sauce.
