How to assemble a portfolio of first-graders

Almost every modern school teachers ask parents, whose children have just started to study, to make a portfolio of a first-grader. To ensure that such a proposal does not put you in a dead end, you need to have an idea of what it is, what sections it should include, and how to best formalize it.

Where to begin?

Portfolio first-graders - it's not just a collection of his works, but also a source of data about the child, his interests, hobbies and environment. What exactly to include in the album and what information to indicate depends on the requirements of your school, but in any case there will necessarily be three sections: personal information, reports on victories and successes, children's creative works.

About me

The "About Me" section starts with the title page, which contains the owner's photo, his name and surname. Next is a sheet with a table of contents. The section includes the following topics, each of which should be highlighted and illustrated with photographs or drawings.

  1. Name.
  2. A family.
  3. Schedule.
  4. Hometown.
  5. Hobbies.
  6. School.
  7. Favorite subjects and circles.
  8. Schedule of lessons.
  9. Friends.
  10. Teachers.
  11. Future profession.
  12. Self portrait, imprint or outline of the palm.

Further, the portfolio of the first-grader includes the section "My achievements", which is constantly replenished as new award documents are received. It can be diplomas from sports, certificates from olympiads and intellectual contests, creative events and exhibitions, as well as letters of thanks. For first-graders there is no need to share inside and outside extracurricular achievements, therefore the documents are placed in a folder not in meaning, but in the order of receipt.

The section "My works" is the most extensive. Here are stored drawings and applications, compositions, poems, tales, stories - everything that was invented and set out on paper by a young writer. If a child sculpts from plasticine, knits or embroideries, is engaged in any other creativity, and his crafts can not be placed in a folder, you can take pictures of them and put pictures in your portfolio.

How to make a portfolio for a first-grade boy

The design of the album is so individual that it is difficult to advise anything concrete. The main thing is that all the details of the decor are firmly attached, because the child will necessarily want to see it more than once and not twice, to show each relative and friend. The subject for the design is best suggested by the student himself, and the parents will only gently and beautifully embody the children's design. Clippers and robots, super heroes and a military theme - everything that the child is close and interesting, can find a place in his portfolio. Separate sheets are decorated with fragments of the puzzle, stickers and clippings from children's magazines, or even just print out the template and place information on it.

Portfolio of first-graders for girls

Locks and princesses, dolls and fairies, pink paper, crystals and flowers - this is how the little pupils see their future portfolio. Parents only have to help in the embodiment of ideas and to make sure that in the impulse of creativity the child does not lose sense of proportion. It would be better if the initiative comes from the child, then he will have a fair impression that the work was done on its own, with only a small parental assistance. In the end, the creation of the album is not a boring duty, but a creative act, which in itself contributes to the development of the child's talents.
