Red Wolf

The wolf is a predatory mammal related to the dog family. This animal is widely spread on the planet. Almost every climatic zone is inhabited by the species of these mammals. And the kinds of wolves just depend on where they live.

For example, in the Arctic you can meet the Arctic wolf, in the tundra - tundra, and in the steppes - in the steppe. In addition to these species, coyotes, jackals, Asian wolves, Arabian, eastern, earthen (Mexican), Italian, Indian, Iraqi, Austro-Hungarian, red, New Guinea singing dog and dingo dog belong to the genus of wolves. The last two species are feral dogs, and dingo is a secondarily feral dog. Everyone knows a domestic dog is a direct descendant of a wolf, therefore it is considered as its subspecies.

The rarest kind of wolf that is endangered is the red wolf, or the mountain wolf. This mammal is distributed in the territory from the Tien Shan and the Altai to the Malay Archipelago, the tip of Hindustan and Indochina. Most of the range is located in Central and South Asia, mainly in the mountainous forest area.

In order to more clearly imagine this handsome man, a detailed description of the red wolf should be compiled.

It is a fairly large predator with a body length from 76 to 110 cm and weighing from 17 to 21 kg, with a long hanging tail of 45 to 50 cm, reaching almost to the ground. The red wolf has large standing, slightly rounded above, ears, located high on the head. The whole face of the animal combines features of a fox, a dog, a jackal and a wolf of Russian gray. Its muzzle is a little shortened and pointed, which brings it closer to the fox.

A distinctive feature of this species is its unusual red color, which varies in individual individuals, depending on which part of the range the animal lives in. The tail of the tail is a red wolf.

Hunt these predators mainly in the course of the day in flocks from 5 to 12 individuals, which includes representatives of several generations. Relations between the members of the pack are non-aggressive. It is also noted that males take an active part in the upbringing of offspring. It should also be noted that the red wolf, like many other types of wolves, is monogamous - once choosing a girlfriend for life, he remains true to her.

Settled these predators prefer in the crevices of mountains or in the gorges of rocks, avoiding open plain terrain. Although during the hunt the beast may appear in the steppes, in the forest-steppe and even in the bare desert. But interestingly, the red wolf hunts only wild animals, never attacking domestic cattle! And he feeds on meat only in the winter season, eating in summer only plants.

The way of hunting a red wolf for roe deer, antelope and deer from the methods of all other species is different. After all, most wolves rush to the prey, grabbing her by the throat. The same predator attacks the chosen victim from behind. Two or three wolves are literally two minutes to kill a large deer weighing half a centner.

If necessary, a large flock can defeat a bull (gaur), a tiger or a leopard. Although in real life, these predators will not fight just for the sake of war, but there are times when, for example, a hungry tiger decides to take away from the wolves, like smaller and weaker animals, their honestly earned prey. Already here the flock will not let anyone descend!

"Red Dogs" - this is what Rudyard Kipling called in his collection of short stories The Second Book of the Jungle of Red Wolves. Cruel, dangerous for all animals inhabiting the jungle, predators on the plot of the tale are afraid even the tiger Sherhan and the elephant Hathi. In the animated film, based on the plot of Kipling's book, there is a terrible, cruel battle between a pack of red wolves and jungle dwellers.
