Hemorrhagic cystitis and its prevention

Specialists say that one of the most common ailments of the genitourinary system is cystitis. Basically, it is typical for women, but sometimes it occurs in men. This is due to the anatomical structure of our body. Women have a broader and shorter urethra, so it is much easier for bacteria to enter the bladder.

The disease always begins very sharply, all its symptoms are pronounced. This, in the first place, painful and very frequent urination, cloudy urine and a few drops of blood at the end. If the patient has hemorrhagic cystitis, the blood in the urine is constantly present and stains it in a pinkish color. If, at the first symptoms, do not start the appropriate treatment, iron deficiency anemia or the urinary canal overlap with a blood clot may occur.

The situation is quite serious, so patients who have hemorrhagic cystitis is immediately hospitalized. Blood in the urine appears due to a strong inflammation of the walls of the bladder. Under the influence of harmful bacteria, the mucous membrane is destroyed, which leads to the fragility of the blood vessels. For these reasons, urine has not only red color, but also a very strong putrefactive odor.

Most often, hemorrhagic cystitis appears due to the development of a virus in the body, as well as the effects of certain medications. But do not forget that non-compliance with the rules of hygiene often leads to the development of cystitis. It can develop due to decreased immunity, worsening thyroid function, against the background of the development of other diseases, such as diabetes, tumors, and for non-neurogenic reasons. Those who often delay urination, stretching and overflowing the bladder, violate his blood circulation. If you do this all the time, hemorrhagic cystitis always appears. Infection very quickly penetrates into the mucosa with a favorable atmosphere for itself and destroys its thin walls.

Loss of efficiency, chills, malaise and fever characterize acute hemorrhagic cystitis. In this state, urination can be every ten to fifteen minutes. Urine is very rare, but the person is experiencing severe painful pain. By the end of urination, pain in the perineum and lower abdomen becomes simply intolerable. If a patient has hemorrhagic cystitis, treatment should be performed only under the supervision of a specialist, as the disease can return, but already in chronic form.

Each case is always individual. The specialist prescribes antibiotics, microclysters, warm baths and bed rest. Women need to carry out various treatment procedures to restore vaginal microflora. With severe pain in the abdomen, anesthetics and heat (hot sand, warmers) are used. To successfully heal hemorrhagic cystitis, treatment should be carried out in combination with a special diet. From the diet are completely excluded from alcoholic beverages, canned food, spices and spicy dishes. They cause irritation, strong blood flow to the pelvic area and constipation. Required fluid intake in large quantities. Dairy products, fruits and vegetables are shown.

Even if acute hemorrhagic cystitis could be cured, it is necessary to adhere to certain rules of prevention in order to avoid relapses. First, it is compulsory to follow the rules of individual hygiene. Secondly, avoid hypothermia. Thirdly, in a timely manner, treat all inflammatory diseases.

Remember, the best way to combat various types of complications is timely prevention.
