Competent planting gladioli
Gladiolus - beautiful flowering plants from the family of iris. They are photophilic, soils prefer moderately moist, breathable. Blossom from July to October, depending on the variety. In height, they are divided into medium-sized (from 50 to 100 cm) and tall (more than 100 cm).
A competent planting of gladioli includes the preparation of bulbs for planting. This stage is very important. From the storehouse of corms you need to get 25 days before planting, bring them into a heated room, where the temperature is 20-25 0 C. It is necessary that the humidity of the air was small, so as not to provoke a strong growth of the roots.
As a rule, at the end of winter the gladioli end a period of rest and the bulbs begin to germinate under any conditions. As soon as sprouts appear, corms should provide sufficient scattered lighting. They need to be cleaned from covering scales, especially children.
If the planting material is stored in the refrigerator, then it needs a thermal treatment, such as warming in warm water at 25-30 0 C. This will give corms a good stimulus, accelerate their further development and flowering.
Planting gladiolus is carried out after disinfection from fungal spores and thrips. To do this, use special preparations or infusions on phytoncidal plants. Of the drugs, you can use 0,3% base or phytosporin. The bulbs are placed in the prepared solution for 40 minutes. From thrips you can cook a hood: from 100 g of garlic pressed juice, diluted in 1 liter of water. In such a solution, bulbs are placed for 3 hours.
If a small number of bulbs of different sizes are planted, they are conveniently located in the wells. In one excavated hole, you can put 3-4 medium bulbs at the maximum depth, a few shallow - less deeply, a few children - closer to the surface. Such a planting of gladiolus does not require support: it is enough to tie the plants in a bouquet.
