Thick Jack, tomato: description

Because of its low growth, this tomato is considered unpretentious in care, but it should not be forgotten that it bush and grows in width, so it should be in time to paternity. Form a shrub usually 3-4 stems.

The leaves are medium in size, green. Externally, the bush is no different from its counterparts.

It is interesting that rather large fruit grows on short shrubs. On average, the weight of tomatoes is 170-200 grams, but the largest fruits reach a weight of 300-320 grams.

The immature fruit of green color has a dark green spot near the stalk. In mature tomatoes, the color varies from rich red to crimson.

Because of the dense pulp, the tomatoes themselves are quite hard, well transported and stored for a long time.

Planting and growing

Growing sprouts of this tomato is not difficult. Before sowing seeds, they need to be treated with a 2% solution of potassium permanganate. Sowing is usually done in early April. When forming seedlings, it must be dived and fed with complex mineral fertilizers.

When planting seedlings in the open ground, you need to wait until the earth warms up well and there is no probability of frost. The soil should not be specially prepared: the only thing that can be done is to put a shredded egg shell under each root.

Caring for the bushes is simple. You do not need to tie it. Sometimes it is only to pinch off excess stepsons and remove the lower leaves, so that the bushes are ventilated.

Although tomato Thick Jack can be grown outdoors and in southern regions, it is possible to plant seeds directly in the garden, but in most regions of Russia this variety is grown in greenhouses and film shelters.

When the seeds are planted in the garden, the maturation of tomatoes increases about a week. From the moment of seed sowing to the first harvest, approximately 100-105 days pass. It is not terrible, if the landing of this variety will be a little later, because its early ripeness will still ensure the harvest.

Thus, this variety is suitable for both growing seedlings and sowing seeds directly in the ground.

Since tomato Thick Jack is considered a high-yielding variety, it is necessary to process large volumes of harvest at once. To prevent this from happening, you can put some of the seedlings in a greenhouse, and a part - in the open ground. So you can collect 2 harvest waves, and to process tomatoes with small volumes will be much easier.

As a result, it can be said that Tomato Tolsty Jack is not in vain so popular among gardeners and amateurs. After all, it is unpretentious, early-ripening, yielding and universal for the application of fruits.
