Choosing butter for lawn mowers

Every summer begins the season of active use of gasoline equipment. Even in our country in recent years began to actively apply lawn mowers, previously known to us only on TV movies.

Of course, users of such a tool have a lot of problems, since not all are experienced in its correct operation. In particular, the special headache is caused by oil for lawn mowers, the choice of which is far from that simple. By the way, in this regard, it would be superfluous to say that many buyers are setting themselves fundamentally wrong criteria for choosing lubricants, since they hardly understand the basic operational characteristics of the equipment they use.

Very often they forget that even the oil for lawnmowers should be selected, focusing also on the temperature characteristics of the environment.

It is known that any lubricant for four-stroke engines must meet certain SAE viscosity indexes. Of course, lawn grass with negative ambient temperatures grows very poorly, so when buying it is necessary to focus on those products whose indicator for this parameter corresponds to summer operation.

Most of the manufacturers say that the optimal oil for lawnmowers corresponding to SAE 30. The use of less viscous varieties for cold climates and thicker greases for hot regions is also not welcome. Why?

The point is in the very design of these devices. To reduce the cost and simplify their production, designers excluded the oil pump from their composition. As a result, the lubrication of all moving parts of the engine is due to the crankshaft, which during its movement "scoops" it out of the crankcase, evenly distributing the lubricant through friction for all parts. That is why oil for a gasoline lawnmower can not be bought in the first store, since later you can be "happy" with the bill for its repair.

Thus, if the consistency of the lubricating composition is too fluid, it will simply drain from the crankshaft back to the crankcase. If it is too thick, then in time such a substance can turn into an amorphous solid mass, which also does not lead to anything good.

Cars are much better protected from such troubles, as for a uniform lubrication of the engine there is a special oil pump. Theoretically, all the oil for lawnmowers can be used in cars, but standard products for cars are not always suitable for other techniques.

Fortunately, today, in almost all specialized retail chains, a specialized lubricant of the SAE 30 class is on sale. Only such sales points are not available in all cities, let alone smaller settlements. So what kind of oil is poured into the lawn mower in the absence of specialized options?

Experts say that lubricants of the SAE 15W-40 and SAE 20W-50 class are best suited for this purpose. And the purchase of "synthetics" or mineral oil is not particularly important, since lawn mowers are still not used in the same difficult conditions in which racing cars have to go.
