A recessed flush mounted mixer is ...

Currently, the maintenance of body hygiene is not possible without such plumbing devices as a bathroom or shower. The latter is much more popular, as taking a bath takes a long time, and you can refresh yourself with a shower in just a few minutes.

The flush-mounted mixers are an excellent solution to the "small area" problem, as this is one way to save a lot of space. All models have one function, only devices are different.

What is a flush-mounted mixer?

Traditional instruments assume the placement of an adjustment device and water supply in the housing. A flush-mounted mixer is a device that exists apart from the spout. To install such a device is necessary at the time when the water pipes are being diluted, since there is a mounting in the wall. From the outside you can see only the metal nozzle and the control lever.

Each manufacturer seeks to release its mixers with concealed installation, but in general, there are 2 main types:

  • Built-in mechanism - a monolithic metal cast frame with holes for hot and cold water supply, equipped with fasteners. The only part of this mixer is a cartridge.
  • Built-in box. These universal mixers with concealed installation are of two types: a shower device (a ceiling watering can or a watering can equipped with a flexible hose) and a bath and shower device (two water outlets: a shower head and a spout).

Stationary device with watering can and single lever switch

The flush-mounted mixer is a temperature and water pressure regulator that comes from a faucet or shower head. The latter are: simple and multimodal. The most primitive is the single-lever system, which is based on a cartridge that performs the same function as a valve and a ball mixer in a traditional device.

A diverter with a mode switch and a mixer connects a long flexible metal corrugated hose. Mounting to the wall is carried out by means of a special bracket.

Sequence of mixer installation or replacement

A shower mixer with concealed installation can be installed independently, all that is required is a small experience and special tools.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. With the help of a bolt or shtroborez need to make a groove until the moment the necessary height is reached.
  2. Pipes for hot and cold water supply should be laid from the riser to the installation site of the mixer and hidden in the wall. By the way, special "stockings" are able to compensate for the temperature expansion, for the production of which foam polypropylene is used. When removing pipes, the requirements regarding level and distance must be observed, otherwise the process of threaded connection to the body of the device will be delayed for a long time.
  3. Installation of the hidden part is carried out directly into the wall. In this case, a perforator and crowns are used. Do not forget about the thickness of ceramic tiles or plastic panels will be used for wall covering.
  4. To achieve the optimum value of tightness allows the use of a tape. A no less effect is provided by the tow in combination with oil paint.
  5. Now you can proceed to fasten the bracket and attach a flexible hose to the corresponding nozzle of the mixer.
  6. The final step is to open the cranes and check the tightness of the system. If leakage is detected as a result, you should first check that the gaskets are tight to the nozzles and tighten the nuts.

Kinds of a hygienic shower with a mixer

Hygienic shower with a concealed mixer can be different depending on the features of its design:

  1. Toilet bowl. Externally, it is practically the same as a normal toilet, but it is equipped with a nozzle that supplies warm water. The location of the latter can be either the body of the toilet bowl or the retractable nipple. Installation of such a hygienic shower involves replacing the toilet in the house. It is also necessary to provide water supply and to mount a built- in shower mixer concealed installation, which should be included.
  2. Cover-bidet. The installation of such a device is much simpler than the previous version, in addition, it can be installed on a regular toilet. The cover can be electric or conventional. For the first, there are additional functions, for example, water heating and a hair dryer.
  3. A wall hygienic shower plus a concealed mixer is the same design as an ordinary shower, but with some differences. The watering can is much smaller and equipped with a shut-off valve. You can install such a shower both separately and on the toilet. Before proceeding with self-installation, you need to find a separate hidden niche in the wall, which is necessary for supplying hot and cold water supply, and then begin to engage in the mixer. The result is warm water. If you plan to install such a shower directly on the toilet, you must first stock up the tee to supply water to the tank. This option is much less labor-intensive, but in the end only cold water will be available.

Briefly about the main

A flush-mounted mixer is the device that is best installed at a time when finishing and plumbing work has not yet been completed.

Ideally, the installation must be performed by a qualified technician. If it was decided to work independently, you can turn to the help of special brochures developed by the world's leading manufacturers - they can find detailed step-by-step instructions for installing an in-line mixer.

Where can I install the concealed mixer?

Regardless of the type of wall and its thickness, there are the following options for installing the mounting block:

  • on the wall;
  • On the supporting frame;
  • On the interior partition by means of a mounting rail;
  • Inside the wall.

The value of the optimum niche depth for the box varies from 80 to 100 mm. If there is such a need, you can use an extension pin, usually included in the kit. The partition, for the erection of which paso-hept or gypsum blocks with a depth of 100 mm was used, need special reinforcement, for example, in the form of a metal sheet screwed with bolts.

Water supply

After the flush-mounted recessed mixers have been installed, you can proceed to the water supply: the fuel must be located on the left side, and the cool one should be located on the right side. Manufacturers usually include everything they need, in particular: piping, several reducing nipples and a plug.

Finishing work

The next stage is the decoration of walls or the production of false walls made of plasterboard. The second option involves fixing the mounting block to the GCR, in accordance with the design. Finally, the mixing unit is assembled and the inner part is closed with a panel on which the control lever, switch and spout are located.

Instructions for installing a flush-mounted mixer

It is much more difficult to install a hygienic concealed installation system than a corresponding design on a sink. In this situation, you need to either drill a wall, or make a special box in which you can place the inside of the product.

Such work assumes the following stages:

  1. Study instructions for the purpose of acquaintance with the device and its features.
  2. Considering the place of installation of the mixer and its components.
  3. Wiring of the water supply system.
  4. Determination of the outlet point of the shower hose.
  5. Laying of a connecting waterpipe.
  6. Preparing a niche in a wall or a box. The manufacture of a niche involves the use of a perforator with a special nozzle mounted on it.
  7. Stacking in the holes of all necessary elements (pipes and bends).
  8. Installation of the mixer in the niche in accordance with the instructions.
  9. Conduct a trial run, namely a close inspection of the system at the time of leakage, a study of each centimeter, especially in connection areas.
  10. Wall repair.

Important! When purchasing a flush-mounted mixer, pay attention to the mounting box. The presence of this device greatly facilitates the repair work.
