The branch is ... Drawings for drawing, GOST

Food preparation is always accompanied by such unpleasant things as garbage and soot. The kitchen hood with a tap can eliminate these shortcomings. Retraction is an indispensable thing in the construction of a pipeline or duct. The concept, types, characteristics and requirements for the installation of taps will be discussed in detail in this article.

What is a "challenge"?

A branch is an element of the duct that directs the flow of air in the desired direction. Modern cooker hoods use bends made of various materials, such as black, stainless, galvanized steel, aluminum or PVC.

There are also bends that are designed for lateral emissions. In addition, protective walls or perforated sheets are installed, which prevent debris from entering the ventilation.

Advantages of exhaust hoods

Kitchen hoods with a vent to the ventilation have a number of undeniable advantages. To them it is possible to carry:

  • High level of cleaning;
  • High power and performance;
  • Savings due to the lack of need to change air filters;
  • affordable price.

And of course, the undoubted advantage of such models is the withdrawal of unpleasant odors outside the premises, which guarantees a qualitative air purification.

Disadvantages of kitchen hoods with tap

No matter how tempting there are bends for stretching, they still have their drawbacks. The disadvantages of exhaust hoods include:

  • High noise level;
  • Difficulty in installing the hood;
  • Need to install air duct;

But based on the purpose and purpose of the hood, namely the cleaning of the premises from unpleasant odors, fumes and soot, the tap is the optimal solution for the performance of a given purpose.

Classification of taps

In the construction of household air ducts, different models of kitchen hoods and, accordingly, different bends are used. Classification of taps occurs according to the type of material used for their production:

  • Taps galvanized. For their production, black steel with a thin zinc coating is used. Advantages of galvanized bends are low cost and corrosion resistance.
  • Stainless steel bends. They are rarely found in the construction of air ducts because of the rather high cost. These models are available only with a small diameter, for installation in domestic ventilation systems.
  • Taps made of black steel. Rough bends are mainly used for the construction of industrial air ducts. They have low cost. The main non-delivery of this material is corrosion susceptibility and unaesthetic appearance.
  • Taps made of plastic. They are used only for the construction of household ventilation. In the process of their production, polymeric materials are used which are resistant to loads and deformations.

Each type of tap is subject to special requirements. Taps, the guest of which is prescribed for each individual brand, are distinguished by their strength, thickness, service life and other parameters.

Which choice to choose - plastic or corrugated?

The most popular ducting ducts are air ducts made of plastic or aluminum. Plastic bends can be round and rectangular cross-section, and corrugated ducts are only round.

When installing the bends, you should pay attention to the quality of the connections of all elements of the structure. Therefore, when buying a plastic tap, it is recommended immediately and buy parts and components to it, so that in the future there are no problems with the installation of the duct. In turn, corrugated products do not need additional elements, as they have high flexibility, and they can easily stretch and contract. Therefore, the installation of an aluminum corrugated duct is less laborious.

The installation process of this model consists of only two stages: the first - to fix the edge of the pipe to the ventilation hole, the second - to connect the duct to the exhaust outlet of the extractor. Another advantage of the corrugated aluminum bend is its light weight. The disadvantages are: high noise level, approximately, such as produce steel bends, and the accumulation of grease, fumes and soot inside the duct.

Plastic bends look much more profitable in terms of operation, as they have less resistance, do not accumulate dirt and work without creating excessive noise.

Cross-section of tap

In addition to classifying taps according to the type of material, several factors need to be considered when choosing a duct, such as: the shape of the channel section and the configuration of the trunk.

When buying an air duct, it is recommended to choose a circular channel section shape, since this type has the best aerodynamics. But if the kitchen is located in a small room, then the round elbow will take up a lot of space and look quite unaesthetic. Therefore, to install the hood in a small room, it is best to choose a hood with a rectangular duct. Such a model is mounted on the ceiling and accordingly occupies less space. But you should pay attention to the fact that when installing a duct with a rectangular cross section, you will additionally purchase several adapters.

Diameter of tap

To effectively operate the cooker hood, you need to choose the correct diameter of the duct. In order for the extractor to work without unnecessary noise and properly remove contaminants from the air, it is necessary to select taps with a similar diameter of the exhaust hood. To calculate the diameter of the bends, the guest has developed a special table for calculating the diameter of the duct. When operating a duct with a smaller diameter, the exhaust power and, consequently, the level of air purification are significantly reduced.

In addition to the diameter of the tap, it is also worth taking care of how it is located. During installation of the duct, it is important to avoid sharp and right angles. The 90-degree bend of the bend loses up to 10% of the power of the hood.

Mounting the extractor hood

Correctly to establish a withdrawal - this means to ensure its effective and high-quality work. To install the extraction hood, first calculate the distance and location of the hood above the hob. The space between the exhaust system and the gas stove should be sufficient so that the hood does not interfere with the working surface of the plate. The optimal distance between them is 75 centimeters.

When building a duct, it is important to remember that access to fresh air in the room should be maintained. To do this, mount a special grate with a valve in the duct. When the hood is operated, the valve closes, and when turned off, it opens to ensure normal air circulation.

When installing steel or corrugated bends, it is necessary to consider their way to ventilation. Due to improper installation of bends, the hood can lose up to 30% of its power. Therefore, considering the path of the duct, take care that the pipe does not have sharp or right angles. As already mentioned, the withdrawal of 90 degrees of bend contributes to a decrease in the efficiency of the extraction device.

To reduce the noise level of the hood, it is necessary to pay attention to the diameter of the bend. It should be larger than the exhaust port of the hood. It is necessary to consider the type of device. For example, flat hoods are attached to the wall, and island - to the ceiling.

If you follow these simple recommendations, the hood in the kitchen will work as efficiently as possible, without bringing unnecessary inconveniences to the residents of the house.
