World and Russian oil reserves

It's no secret that everything in this world has its logical conclusion. Minerals are also not an inexhaustible product, so someday mankind will have to forget about the now familiar for us gas, oil, coal. In this article I will tell you more about the world's oil reserves.

To date, the world's oil reserves (known) are about 265 billion tons, of which 73% are in the OPEC countries (oil exporting countries). Quite significant was the increase in oil resources, amounting to 30 billion tons. From the above, you can draw a logical conclusion that drivers and various entrepreneurs should not worry about the fact that their cars will soon be suitable only for scrap metal, and the business of oil companies will not bring profit, because according to experts only proven oil deposits will be enough for long 55 years. The maximum oil reserves are now in the following regions: the Middle East (48.1%), South and North America (32.9%) and Africa (8%). The remaining territory is 11%. If you estimate the reserves by country, the leader here is Venezuela (17.9%). Next come Saudi Arabia (16.1%), Canada (10.6%), Iran (9.1%) and Iraq (8.7%).

Recently, the fuel issue (more precisely, its solution) leads to adverse consequences, the most significant of which are environmental and political. If everything is clear with the environmental (pollution by harmful emissions of the Earth's atmosphere and hydrosphere), then with political affairs, things are not the best either. In May 2012, one of the world's largest oil corporations, Repsol, sued the Argentine government for illegal actions on the part of the latter, demanding $ 10 billion. The second large-scale political move was the refusal of the EU countries to purchase Iranian oil (due to the increased actions of Iran provoking conflicts ). Also, relations between China and Japan are strained due to the Senkaku oil and gas bearing islands. All of the above phenomena have a negative impact on the world market, which leads to higher prices for gasoline, diesel and the like. But there is good news. As the governments of the Middle East states, if they do not experience sudden complications, then the prices for energy producers this year may somewhat decrease.

Current oil reserves in Russia allow the state to enter the top ten of the leading countries. Today, the government does not declassify the full volume of mineral deposits, and what the world knows is 10 billion tons. However, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, issued a decree on their 100-percent declassification, after which, according to some experts, Russia will be able to enter the top three.

To date, oil reserves are divided into 2 types: hard-to-get and easy-to-get. So, in Russia, the latter account for only 30%, indicating that they will soon run out. To extract difficult oil, innovative technologies must be used, which will entail large investments. It is this factor that now discourages many oil companies from developing such deposits. Recall that now the largest companies in the country are Rossneft, Lukoil and TNK-BP.
