Why is gallant - is this correct?

The modern rhythm of life and the features of human behavior began to differ sharply from what people have been used to seeing for a long time. In the territory of the post-Soviet space such a difference is felt especially sharply. In our day, it is rare to find chivalry on the part of a man. Did this quality come out of fashion or is it still relevant?

Why show gallantry?

First of all, it is worth mentioning what this term means. Gallantry originates from the Middle Ages, when it came to the knight's code of honor. This word, which has reached us, in French means "exquisite courtesy." Is it often possible to meet the manifestation of this quality?

Although chivalry often indicates a good upbringing, some men in modern society use this attitude to the opposite sex not from the principles of honor. For many members of the stronger sex to act gallantly - is to do anything to impress, seduce a woman.

However, there are those who understand that to behave in a society of women is gallant - this is a sign of one's own dignity, good manners and nothing more. Unfortunately, the less common this quality is with the right message, the more often it is treated as flirting and inappropriate attention. How does chivalry look like?

In a society where a woman sometimes wants to become more independent, a gallant person is not always the person she expects to see. This fine quality, which goes with time from the life of society, is characterized by simple actions. For example, when a woman descends the steps, she should give a hand. Gallantry is manifested in the fact that a man helps his companion to put on a coat, skips forward, opening the door in front of her, and pushes the chair when she is about to sit down.

Such simple actions, which were the norm for an educated society, today can be treated not as courtesy, but as a token of attention to a person of the opposite sex. That's why this behavior is typical of young people who take care of a girl. So, the display of gallantry in relation to married ladies can not always be correctly regarded by surrounding people.

To act gallantly - this does not mean to be only courteous in circulation. Sometimes this quality is manifested in relation to a woman even before there is a need for any action. For example, when meeting a gallant man should show his respect, saying the phrase "I am glad to meet you" or "Nice to meet you."

Also the display of chivalry is the ability to properly conduct a conversation. In the company of a gentleman, a woman may feel uncomfortable, so avoid those who are absolutely unfamiliar to her. With this, difficulties may arise, because most of the "male" conversations are uninteresting to the fairer sex. However, behaving naturally, a man remains gallant, if it starts talking about what is familiar to his companion.

Although gallantry is a quality that is often used by a man to achieve certain goals, for example, to impress a woman or gain her confidence, it should be used not only in certain situations, for solving the tasks posed. Family psychologists unanimously assert that good manners testify to the true respect of the spouse to his chosen one. People who are married for a long time, no longer need to impress each other, and even more so to win. But the display of chivalry will make the relationship of the spouses more robust.

The reason for the fact that gallantry has not become so frequent is not only the lack of manners of men, but also the desire of women to become more independent. Many representatives of the weaker sex regarded signs of appropriate attention from the gentlemen as evidence of condescension shown to weak and helpless individuals.

The manifestation of noble qualities positively affects people. If a man acts gallantly - it gives him the opportunity to feel a real defender, a strong personality. But even if this quality is shown by a friend or a completely stranger, this attitude still reminds the lady of her uniqueness and warms her soul.

Whatever the mindset of modern man, some men still will continue to show gallantry. Such an attitude towards a woman is laid in the representatives of the stronger sex in the genes.
