When knee bending crunches? - Immediately to the doctor!

The liquid itself in the knee joint is a necessary element, since it serves as a lubricant for the cartilaginous surfaces that touch when moving. If there is no such secretion in the knee or it is excessive, this is considered a pathology, as this leads to a disruption of the normal functioning of the joint and, as a result, causes severe pain and crunch in the knees when squatting.

Causes of fluid accumulation in the knee joint

In fact, the accumulation of fluid in the knee joint can be due to several reasons:

Aseptic inflammation. In the fluid of the knee joint, changes that can appear with trauma, after hypothermia, or with arthritis are found. Such a state can arise when the joints of the products of the disintegration of the cartilaginous tissue accumulate in the fluid of the joint, which provokes a situation when knees crack during a squat;

- purulent inflammation. Characterized by the fact that in severe knee injuries in the joint fluid penetrate pathogenic microorganisms that begin to multiply;

- Immune inflammation. It arises as a result of joint damage by pathological immune formations arising from diseases such as arthritis, rheumatism, severe allergies, etc. With a similar form of inflammation, knees also crunch when squatting.

Symptoms of patients with knee joints

As for the clinical signs of fluid in the knee joint, the doctors distinguish the following:

1) increase in the size of the foot in the area where the knees crunch;

2) limitation of motor function (pain when flexing and unbending, crunching);

3) tight to the touch swelling around the knee;

4) burning, redness, or a feeling of heat on the skin in the knee area.

Treatment of fluid in the knee joint

If a pathology of the knee is found, the doctor should be consulted immediately in order to avoid any complications and pain symptoms. Initially, it is necessary to reduce the number of movements of the diseased leg to a minimum. Steroid drugs are prescribed to block the production of inflammatory fluid. If, with a purulent inflammation, the knees crack during squatting, intraarticular antibacterial therapy is used, prescription ointments with antiseptic and antimicrobial action. To treat aseptic inflammation of the fluid of the knee joint, dry compresses based on ichthyol and herbal remedies (cabbage leaf, lakonos, etc.) are prescribed.

The fluid is pumped out of the joint only in the most severe case, and not when the knees crunch and the pathology is detected during squats. With a similar operation, an antibiotic or anti-inflammatory agent is injected into the joint, which disinfects the liquid and prevents its penetration into other tissues of the leg and the spread of harmful microorganisms.

Thus, if knees crack or when there is the slightest suspicion of fluid in the knee joint, and if there is even one of the listed symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor. It is important to remember that over time this disease can become chronic and lead to complete disruption of motor function - this can put an end to normal independent movement without pain.
