What is a corner clamp, and how is it arranged?

Probably, each of us had to assemble furniture in life , and that's why many people know that when drilling several boards the slightest displacement of parts can lead to inconsistency of both devices. As a result, furniture becomes crooked and ugly. Therefore, experienced assemblers use special angular clamps in their work. We'll talk about them today.

Characteristic

This tool is a set of parts in which both boards are docked at right angles and fixed with special clips in place. And whichever vibration from drilling holes occurs, the material being processed will stand steadily in its place.

Benefits

In its properties, the carpentry corner clamp has a number of advantages:

  1. The connection of the two boards is carried out at a certain angle, which guarantees the perfect execution of the carpentry work.
  2. With the help of clamps it is possible to fully control the condition of the machined parts and not allow them to change their position when gluing, joining with screws or special fastening elements.
  3. The angular clamp can hold the boards in the given position exactly as much as necessary for this.
  4. Thanks to the presence of this tool, it is possible to join even products of different thicknesses. In this case, the angle of their inclination will be the same.
  5. The use of this element does not entail the use of any other technical tools.

Mechanism arrangement

According to its design, the angular clamp is a fixed metal frame with grooves located perpendicular to each other. In addition, the movable part is added to the grooves, which is a clamping plate that fixes the chipboard sheet inserted into the mechanism or wooden boards. The connection of this part is carried out by means of screws. Also, the angular clamp has a fixed element in its design. By the way, a similar construction, consisting of a movable and fixed part, also has a locksmith clamp.

In continuation of the design ... The fixed part, as a rule, has several holes or clamps for fixing in a vice or a workbench. The sliding jaws of this part on the surface are usually rubber or plastic lining, used to prevent scratches on this or that fixed material. Often such mechanisms have 1 clamp, consisting of a single bolt, which provides a symmetrical pressing of the material against the fixed stops of the device. There are also devices with two clamps, but they are less popular than the first.

Application

The angular clamp is most often used to assemble the facade frames, since the clamp design assumes the presence of special adjustable sponges, fixing the devices at right angles. Mostly wooden materials are processed, most often when assembling and repairing cabinet furniture or door frames.
