If you do not want to carry this weight in the second round, you can prepare watermelon candied fruits. For those who have never heard such an exotic word, let us explain that it is boiled in sweet syrup and wrapped in sugar or whole fruits, or pieces of berries and fruits. That is, in fact, they are such original homemade sweets.

Recipe for candied fruits from watermelon crusts

Actually, frankly, do not wait until you get a tasteless watermelon, as it is not necessary and specifically look for such a specimen. Candied fruit can also be made from a sweet round delicacy. The main thing is that it had a thick enough crust. All the red pulp you will eat with pleasure, and inedible (as you thought before) the parts instead of the trash can go to the pan.

In order to make candied fruit from a watermelon peel, it is necessary to remove all the excess from it - an external hard green shell and traces of red pulp. After that, cut them into cubes or cubes. The dimensions of the pieces should not be very large. It is quite enough if they will vary within one centimeter.

Cut into pieces of crust we fall asleep into boiling water and boil for about 10 minutes to get rid of stiffness. Then we spread them from the pan into a colander and leave for a while to drain.

Cook the syrup. Half a liter of water is taken about a kilogram of sugar. Only pour the water necessarily fresh, not the one into which you boiled before the candied fruit from the watermelon peel. In the boiling syrup we lower our workpieces and again boil for about 10 minutes. Then turn off the fire and leave them cool right in the syrup. The easiest way to do this is before going to bed, as during the night they will definitely cool down enough.

The next day again boil them the same 10 minutes. Surely you will need to repeat this procedure three more times. But you do not need to wait for the mixture to cool down. The main thing is to ensure that the candied fruit from the watermelon peel becomes transparent. Once this happens, add a little lemon juice and vanillin. You can put cinnamon instead of the latter.

Now drain the syrup, wait a bit for it to stack with the candied fruits, and roll them in the sugar powder. You can take and simple sand, if there is no powder at hand. That's almost all. It remains only to put them on a board covered with parchment paper or plastic wrap so that they do not come in contact with each other and leave to dry. This usually takes about three to five days. But you can try immediately.

If you have food coloring at home, you can add them to the syrup. Then your candied fruits will please not only your taste, but the eye with a variety of shades. Put the candies in a jar. You can dispose of them on your own.
