Types of printing on T-shirts

All people love to dress stylishly. But summer is already close, it's time to take off your jackets and sweaters and put on something light. And then come to the rescue t-shirts. Yes, they can be boring and monochrome, but there is another type - T-shirts with stylish and beautiful, witty and funny, fascinating and mind-blowing prints. These prints can be executed using various technologies, which we will consider in this article. Be sure to remember that absolutely every method described below has a certain number of advantages and disadvantages. Let's get started!

Usually, fabrics are printed in two most popular ways, which deserve recognition among those who wear such products and those who decorate them. This is silk screen printing and thermal transfer printing.

Silk screen printing is a method that has been known to mankind for a very long time. Different types of printing in printing require the presence of complex and expensive equipment, but not silkscreen. At the same time, the print quality level is very high. To carry out the drawing, it is enough to have a special paint and a stencil mesh. Silkscreen was also used in ancient China. Modern scientists have slightly corrected the process of obtaining the finished product, improving its quality, clarity and durability, but the basic principle remained the same. Thus, it is not difficult to get about 20,000 T-shirts per shift.

But, as already noted above, each method has its own shortcomings and pitfalls. Silk screening can not do without the participation of a person, therefore it is impossible to completely automate such production, which essentially distances it from the way other types of printing are done.

If you want to know what kinds of printing on T-shirts are, then do not forget about thermal transfer printing. The "foundation" of this method is the same as that of silk screen printing, but the main difference is that the print is drawn not on fabric, but on specially prepared thermal paper. There are different types of printing, this method is subject to all places, even the most inaccessible. Pre-applied to the thermal paper, the pattern is put together with the fabric under the thermo-press, which, when heated, transfers the image to textiles, and not only - the picture can be transferred to mugs and much more. The drawing is prepared in any photo editor, then it is cut out on a plotter connected to the computer - so we get a transfer.

Thermotransfer printing deserves love for the fact that:

  • Drawing from the fabric can not be separated;
  • It does not burn out in the sun;
  • Can withstand washing in a washing machine at a temperature of 80 degrees. Not only 1-2 t-shirts are printed, but also thousands of copies;
  • Three minutes - just as much you have to wait in order to get the final product;
  • On thermal paper can be printed on both a laser printer and an inkjet printer.

The above two methods are used most often, but new types of printing continue to compete with them: embossing, digital printing, offset and others. It is better to use silkscreen and thermal transfer printing, since the first one is suitable for huge orders, and the second one is for small orders. Types of printing you choose based on your desires and preferences. The main thing is high quality.
