Two-color pattern: schemes and description of technology

With the onset of cold weather, the topic of warm things becomes especially urgent. At this time women of fashion have to solve a difficult task: "How to combine functionality and originality in one detail?". Sold goods, although diverse, but they come off, as they say, from the assembly line, which means it's worth forgetting about individuality.

The bicolour pattern presented in this article in various variations turns out to be not only unique and voluminous, but also makes the thing very warm, which, incidentally, is important in the cold season.

History of occurrence

Beginning needlewomen who have mastered the basics of knitting techniques, sooner or later, there is a desire to learn how to knit two-color patterns. Schemes, a description of technology at this stage of "development" may seem incomprehensible and extremely complex. Many at this stage throw their hobby, and not revealing the creative potential.

It is for this case that the technique of knitting, known as the lazy jacquard, is particularly suitable. It is quite simple to perform it, you do not need to have special knitting skills, but at the same time the work will turn out to be very beautiful and elegant. There are many knitting options. Each needlewoman can choose a suitable ornament.

For several seasons in a row, a bicoloured pattern remains fashionable, or, as it is also called, jacquard. It is interesting, where did this interesting designation for the multi-colored ornament come from? The name of this style comes from the name of its inventor. And he was a French engineer Joseph Maria Jacquard.

At home, such patterns can be created with the help of spokes and colored threads. As a rule, schemes of jacquard patterns are simple and even a newcomer can deal with them.

Basics

Two-color double-sided pattern, it is immediately out of several multi-colored tangles. Doing this is not easy, it is necessary to have the necessary skills, and patience. It is important to be careful when creating jacquard patterns, because one wrong loop, connected not in such or such a color, can seriously damage and mix the entire picture of the finished product.

In one row, several times you have to change the threads, creating a pattern. If the pattern is complex, and the next thread goes to work more than two rows, then the working thread must be crossed again. To do such manipulations it is necessary for the working thread to press an auxiliary one to the product, otherwise the web will be unevenly connected, and later vertical holes will appear. These subtleties in work need to be known and taken into account. Failure to comply with the basic rules will affect the quality of your work.

In order to facilitate the fate of needlewomen, patterns were created in the technique called lazy jacquard. Schemes are created in such a way that the drawing is created in rows. That is, in the process of tying out, you do not need to change the thread several times while tying one row. In this case, every two rows are tied in one color. Knit two-color pattern lazy jacquard much easier and much faster. That is why most needlewomen give preference to this technique.

Mastering Technology

So, let's figure out how to fit this pattern. Lazy jacquard, like most patterns, consists of facial and purl loops.

The main feature of this pattern is that the two successive rows, front and back, are knitted with a thread from one tangle. Change the thread at the sides of the product. Another feature of the technique is that when the face loops are tied, they are often odd. The thread, which is tied off the removed loops, must be left behind for work. In the purl rows, or even even, it is necessary to do the opposite, that is, leave the thread before work.

And, finally, the third feature - the loops need to be tied the way they are on the spoke. This applies to the back rows. If in the work there is a removed loop, then it also does not need to be tied, but simply left on the working spoke.

Scope of the pattern

Ornaments created in the folk style were and always remain relevant. And it is not necessary that the picture was created in the Slavic style. Very popular with us are Norwegian patterns. Multicolored and bright patterns are used to create children's things: blouses, trousers, overalls, dresses, as well as mittens, scarves and hats.

For women, patterns of no more than three threads are most often used. This pattern is used for knitting jackets, jackets and pullovers. For men, however, the two-color pattern remains acceptable, this should be a strict and restrained motive. Most often in this style create vests and sweaters. Lazy jacquard remains the leader in the creation of sweaters, mittens and hats.

Sota pattern

This symbolic name is explained by the visual similarity with bee honeycombs. You can draw a drawing either with one thread or with two different colors. The pattern of "honeycomb" two-color knits, as well as one-color, the exception is that it is necessary to change the thread every two rows.

In order to create this ornament, you will need a thread of two colors. It is important that they are the same thickness and knitting needles that match your thread. For the pattern, you need to type the number of loops that is a multiple of two. Plus two more edge threads, which are not taken into account in the figure, but are invariably present, as in any other product.

Pattern pattern

  • The first row (light thread). We alternate one purl and one facial loops (starting from the purl).
  • Second row (light thread). We send a series of reports from three loops, namely: 1 purl, 1 cap and 1 loop is removed without tying.
  • Third row (dark thread). The first facial, thread to start up from the back of work and take off the cap without tying, and tie one front.
  • Fourth row (dark thread). Wrong, remove the thread before work, without tying the cape, the wrong loop.
  • The fifth row (light thread). To knit two loops together face, purl.
  • Sixth row (light thread). One nakid, one loop to remove, one purl.
  • The seventh row (dark thread). Two facial loops, the thread behind the work, take off the cape.
  • Eighth row (dark thread). The thread in front of the work, remove the cape from itself, tie two purlins.
  • The ninth row (light thread). One purl, obverse, two loops together.
  • The report upward of the drawing is finished. To continue the product, the circuit must be repeated starting from the second row.
