When applying yarns of several colors, each of them can be marked with any shade or in black and white explanations with some icon.

When jacquard patterns are knit, the patterns contain both front and back rows. In this case, the odd drawing should be performed from right to left, and in even ones vice versa. If knitting is conducted in a circle, its scheme is always read only from right to left.

Features jacquard knitting

Many believe that it is very easy to perform jacquard patterns with knitting needles, the scheme does not contain any complicated elements. And knitting is carried out only by two main loops - facial in odd numbers and purl in even numbers.

However, this is fundamentally wrong. The difficulty is to achieve such a thread tension, in which the broaches on the wrong side do not pull the web. Either you have to learn one of the techniques of knitting without long broaches.

You can make it easier by observing certain nuances:

1. You can hold the threads in two ways: with all the index finger of the left hand or in this hand, hold only the main thread, the rest with your right hand.

2. To obtain an even edge, the edge loops are tied with two strands that are in use.

3. To ensure that the threads do not twist, you should follow the rule: after the front row, turn the work clockwise, then the back one - against.

4. When choosing a yarn, pay attention to the thickness. Even when using different invoices, it should be the same.

5. To avoid the formation of holes in the place of color change, the threads must be crossed.

Knitting patterns

When jacquard patterns are knit, the patterns always include areas of different colors. The classical technique of drawing execution assumes that in places of use of one color broaches of another are formed. The difficulty lies in tightening the thread. If it is too tight - the knitted fabric deforms, if too weak - the extreme loops of the fragment can be too large. To achieve the right tension, the following method will help: straightening the loops on the spoke, the knitter determines the desired length of the thread to be pulled.

Avoid long broaches, if you use the weave method. In this case, the unused thread crosses with the main thread, lying on it. Knitting should be tight enough so that the extra thread is not visible on the front side.

There is also a method that completely excludes the appearance of broaches. It's called lazy jacquard. In this case, the knitting of two rows is carried out by a thread of one color. If in this case the eyelets of another come across, they are simply removed. In the front rows, the main thread remains behind the canvas, in the purl strings - before. The next 2 rows are knitted in a different color by the same principle.

Intarsia

Prefer knitting with knitting needles (jacquard patterns)? Schemes usually contain small, recurrent elements. But there is another option for performing multi-color drawings, which is usually called intarsia.

This technique is used when the drawing elements are large enough to completely eliminate the broaches. This is achieved by the fact that each colored area is knit from a separate tangle. When the threads change, they cross.

It is important to note that the use of this technique in circular knitting is extremely difficult. In this case it is necessary to cut off the thread every time, and in the next row to re-attach.

Jacquard crochet

Rudders who do not like knitting needles should not despair if they like any jacquard patterns. Hook colored canvases too, you can.

Two methods can be used. In the first case, broaches are formed on the underside of the knitted fabric. But much more beautiful products are obtained in which they are absent. In this case, avoiding broaches is not difficult: it is enough to hide an unused thread under the tie-off bars.
