Trental (tablets)

"Trental" (tablets) is able to improve the quality of blood, such as fluidity, reduce viscosity. In areas of impaired blood circulation, the drug increases microcirculation. The use of the medication facilitates the symptoms of circulatory disorders in the brain.

"Trental" (tablets) has an insignificant vasodoraslabljajushchim influence. The drug is able to some extent to reduce the overall resistance (peripheral) and dilate the coronary vessels.

"Trental" - tablets in a white shell, biconvex, round. The active ingredient is pentoxifylline. Auxiliary ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, magnesium stearate, starch, lactose.

"Trental" (tablets) is indicated for violations in the peripheral circulation of atherosclerotic nature (diabetic angiopathy, intermittent claudication), trophic lesions (gangrene, ulcers). The drug is also used in disorders of the blood supply to the brain (as a result of atherosclerosis, for example, in memory impairments, dizziness, inadequate concentration of attention), post-stroke and ischemic conditions. "Trental" (pills) instruction recommends and for circulatory disorders in the choroid and retina, otosclerosis, degenerative changes against the background of vascular disease in the inner ear and hearing loss.

The drug is contraindicated in patients with heavy bleeding, hemorrhages in the retina, the brain. Do not prescribe medicines to children (up to eighteen years old), with hypersensitivity, with myocardial infarction in the acute period, during pregnancy and lactation.

When medication is prescribed, care should be taken with patients who have severe cardiac arrhythmias, arterial hypotension, heart failure (chronic), renal and hepatic functions, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and bleeding.

The dosage regimen must be selected individually. As a rule, appoint a tablet "Trental", a day - three times. Subsequently, gradually increase the dosage to 200 mg per day three times.

Do not exceed a single dose of 400 mg (in one dose) and 1200 mg (per day). The drug is taken by swallowing completely, with food, with water.

If the kidneys are disturbed, the dosage can be reduced to one or two tablets per day. Correction of the amount of medication taken is recommended for those with a disorder of liver function.

The use of the drug can cause headaches, sleep disorders, dizziness, convulsions, anxiety, swelling, hot flashes, flushing of the skin. In addition, taking medication can provoke intestinal atony, anorexia, diarrhea, a feeling of overflow and pressure in the abdomen, vomiting. Side effects are also arrhythmia, tachycardia, lowering blood pressure, the development of angina pectoris, thrombocytopenia, bleeding from the vessels of mucous membranes, stomach, skin, intestines, and leukopenia. Some patients may note a visual impairment, angioedema, itching, anaphylactic shock, cattle.

When an overdose, the patient feels dizzy, vomiting. There is a decrease in blood pressure, arrhythmia, chills, tachycardia, loss of consciousness, tonic-clonic convulsions, redness of the skin. If these symptoms are detected, the doctor should be consulted without delay. Therapy should be aimed at maintaining the function of breathing and blood pressure. The introduction of diazepam will eliminate seizures.

The appearance of the first symptoms of an overdose (increased sweating, nausea) is an absolute indication for stopping the drug. The patient needs to ensure a lower position of the upper body and head.
