Manga "Tokyo Gul" is a fantastic story, created by Ishida Sui in 2011. Several volumes have already been published, but it is not finished yet. And more recently, an anime series based on it was released.

It's a strange name, is not it? But not bad reflects the essence of the story "Tokyo Gul". The characters in this story are very colorful, and the story tells us about the other side of the life of the alternative Tokyo, where among the people live monsters - ghouls, eating human flesh.

Strangely, they manage to survive side by side, although humanity does not recognize the right of the ghouls to exist and wants to exterminate them all. And then there is a series of brutal murders in Tokyo, and everything points to the involvement of ghouls ...

Who are the ghouls?

These are mystical creatures, apparently not very different from ordinary people, but having supernatural abilities.

They can not eat ordinary human food, because for them it's like poison, but human flesh is perfectly digested. That is why ghouls hunt humans like cattle, although some of them try to live in peace, posing as ordinary human beings. But, hunting people, they wear special masks and slightly change, manifesting their inhuman essence.

Ghouls can multiply, and their children are also ghouls. But there are special cases when ordinary people become ghouls. This is what happens with the main character Kaneka.

"Tokyo Gul" - an anime that appeared on screens in 2014 and had a liking for many, but because next year there is its continuation.

Kaneki and plot plot

Ken Kaneki is an ordinary young guy who never faces ghouls. He studied, communicated with friends and never thought that in his life there could be at least something supernatural.

But fate has other plans. Once in his favorite cafe "Anteyka" he met a nice girl named Ridze. To his delight, she agrees to go with him on a date ... to a construction site. It's strange that it did not embarrass Ken.

It turns out that Ridze is a ghoul who decided to dine with his admirer. Turning into a monster, she attacks an astonished guy and pierces it to her kaguna in the stomach. Fortunately Kaneki, to finish it, she does not have time - on the ghoul collapses badly fixed steel beams.

Kaneki is urgently taken to the hospital and is undergoing an operation to transplant the stomach. Ironically, the doctors decide to transplant the stomach of the dead under the Ridza beams ...

So an ordinary young man at one moment turns into a half-hog, his life turns into a nightmare: he can not eat ordinary food, his left eye flushed, and he now has to lead a double life.

Ken was lucky - he was received by the ghouls of the café "Anteika", taught to live with his current state, hunt and showed the other side of life.

Kaneki began to wear a bandage on his left eye to hide his belonging to the ghouls, got a job at Anteyka and now he is trying to live a normal life, even if this is not very good.

Although Ken became half ghoul, his character did not change. He is still a modest, reserved young man, but at the same time very kind and optimistic. Kaneki is too trusting, because of what often gets into various troubles. Take at least the Ridze, because of which he is now a Tokyo ghoul.

The characters of this cafe are uneasy, brutal ghouls. They lead a completely normal way of life, with the exception of one small nuance - they have to provide the remaining ghouls with human flesh.

Yes, "Anteika" is otherwise known as the organization of the 20 th district, engaged in the search for suicidal bodies and keeping them for the food of local ghouls.

At the same time, visitors to Anteyka are ordinary people who do not suspect where they come to have dinner.

Now let's talk a little about the workers of the cafe "Anteyka".

Yoshimura

Yoshimura is a café manager. This is a kind old ghoul, ready to help anyone who is not able to hunt independently. It is he who takes under the wing of Kaneka when he becomes a half-keeper.

His mask is a one-eyed owl.

Renji Yoma

Renji Yomo is a tall, gray-haired man, Yoshimura's right hand. He also works in the café Anteyka and is engaged in the search and supply of meat suits.

His mask is a bird's beak.

Toka Kirishima

Toka Kirishima looks like a pretty sixteen-year-old girl, but she's actually a ghoul. She lives a double life: she goes to school, communicates with other people, but at the same time she works as a waitress in the café "Anteika" and hunts like a ghoul.

She has quite an ordinary appearance, which allows her to stay calmly among people, not being afraid that she will be discovered. At school, she is a modest and sweet girl, but she changes radically as a ghoul. She does not know that calm girl with a bang on the right eye - this is a reckless and vengeful ghoul.

From the very first meeting, she disliked Kaneki, believing that he simply did not understand those who are ghouls since birth. But then they put him in pairs in training, and she changes her mind about the guy. Communication with Ken very positively affects the character of Toki: it becomes softer and kinder to others.

Toki has a phobia - she is very afraid of birds. The fact is that as a child, one bird popped it next to the right eye. Since then, the girl began to wear a bang on one side, protecting him.

The Toki mask is a rabbit.

Tokyo Gul: Utah

Utagul, an old friend of Renji. Appearance of him, to put it mildly, frightening: strange clothes, a lot of tattoos and a missing look. However, she perfectly harmonizes with his profession - he has his own art studio in the fourth district, where he makes excellent masks for people and ghouls.

Despite his unfeeling appearance, Uta is very friendly, although he does not miss the opportunity to poke or tease anyone. He, like all ghouls, has special abilities: super-speed, quick reflexes, huge non-human strength and almost instantaneous regeneration.

In "Anteyka" there are other interesting personalities, but it is worth mentioning about other organizations of the series "Tokyo Monster".

Organizations: CCG

This is the main human organization in the universe "Tokyo Gul", the characters of which must destroy especially dangerous ghouls that kill people.

In the CCG, mostly people work, because the selection goes by a special detector that detects the cells of ghouls (RC cells). This is a very large organization, successfully working in all areas of the city.

The purpose of the CCG is to protect the common people from ghouls.

Organizations: "Aogiri"

This organization of ghouls, ruling over the 11th district, which runs One-Eye King.

About "Aogiri" little is known: neither the exact number of its participants, nor the final goals, even the leader know only by pseudonym. In the series, the characters are confronted only with the deputies of the One-Eyed King.

One thing is clear: this is a cruel organization of ghouls, opposing the CCG and very fond of a fresh human.

"Tokyo ghoul" is a rather interesting anime, not unlike the manga in the story, which managed to win the love of the fans. In the first season there were only 12 episodes, but we can say with confidence that this is far from the end. After all, many liked the "Tokyo Gul".
