To think existentially is to form oneself.

Looking at the world, thinking, living existentially is really a special way of life, or another dust in the eye of an under-educated man in the street?

Any first-year student will tell you that existentialism is a rather young (about a hundred years old) philosophical trend, developed first in Germany, then in France, Russia. Over time, it conquered the whole world.

This term in Latin means "existence". The basic idea of the doctrine: a person himself predetermines the meaning of his essence, having already been born. Living, making mistakes and exploits, he creates himself every day through choice. Therefore, the categories of freedom play a huge role, treating it as a combination of opportunity and responsibility at the same time. In this case, a person who thinks existentially is a traveler who is in search of himself, his meaning of life constantly, and understands his daily changing nature.

Coming out of the philosophical cradle, the new current won followers in other spheres of social life. First of all it concerns pedagogy and psychology. The existential approach in psychology considers any human problem as unique and unique, it avoids the use of classifications and patterns. The main goal is to help comprehend the reality and develop one's attitude towards it, because to exist existentially is to be free from other people's assessments and opinions, condemnations and approvals.

The new direction has also developed in pedagogy. This was expressed in the allocation of basic knowledge that everyone should possess. Among all the sciences, the most important one, deduced existentially, is the science of knowing yourself and outlining a positive path of development and self-improvement. At the same time education should help in solving essential human problems, such as life and death, freedom and choice, responsibility, communication and loneliness. Inattention to the listed problems can lead a person to a crisis of existence, with which deviant and delinquent behavior, psychological disorders and even suicidal tendencies are associated. In connection with this, a new, existential education strategy is being built, at the center of which is a person and his problems.

Thus, existentialism is a concept that has already emerged beyond the framework of philosophy and imbues various spheres of society's life. Therefore, its use in various everyday situations is fully justified. It becomes clear that an existential person is characterized by the following qualities: is in search of the essence of his life, its meaning and purpose; Lays responsibility for himself not only for personal choice, but also for close people; Understands that people are related to each other and affect each other; Ready to meet with Nothing, that is, death - this meeting will free him from the path of public opinion and social conventions. Perhaps modern, thinking existentially, a person differs from the heroes of Sartre or Camus, but still the appeal to their works will help to fill the philosophical term with new shades, giving it vitality.
