Theatrical pearl of Gomel - youth theater

Theatrical art gives the viewer the opportunity to live the same story in different ways. Tickets for the play open the veil to the whole world, where both comedy and tragedy can unfold. The theatrical genre has no limitations: there will always be plays that will find a living response in the hearts:

• Wise men of the elderly;
• Middle-aged adults;
• Yesterday's graduates of universities;
• Boys and girls;
• Teenagers and children.

It's nice to realize that more and more modern performances attract young people. Gone are the days when schoolchildren and students were sent to the theater voluntarily and compulsorily. Now, in their environment, a visit to the play is considered a pleasant and interesting activity.

The First Independent Theater of Belarus

By the opening of the city youth theater, the Gomel citizens owe their countryman and successful entrepreneur Grigory Figlin. The debut performance "Travelers in the Night" based on the play by S. Stratiev was held on the founder's birthday - October 13, 1992. The first director of the theater was director Yakov Natapov. So in Belarus there was an "Independent" theater.

His acting staff was small: I had to invite actors from others. For example, in the play "Don Juan 2050" the main role was played by Valery Losovsky. Despite this, the repertoire of "Independent" replenished with several interesting productions.

Unfortunately, in 3 years the young theater lost its benefactor under tragic circumstances. Care for him continued Sister G. Figline - Galina Shofman. In 1998, there was a clear lack of funds to continue the theatrical activity. The artists appealed to the local administration for financial assistance. As a result, the theater received the status of the state and was reorganized into the "Gomel City Experimental Youth Theater-Studio". This ended his independent page of history.

History of the theater from 1998 to 2008

The pride of the city of Gomel, the youth theater, from the moment of its foundation was guided by non-standard productions based on intellectual modern works. Thanks to this approach, performances differ:

• Individuality;
• Own style;
• Orientation to the sensual play of actors, rather than scale decorations and decoration.

Nontrivial productions received many awards and fell in love with the viewer. Located in the center of Gomel, the youth theater takes into account a variety of tastes and invites both deep psychological plays and children's fairy tales. Annually, up to 6 premieres appear on his stage.

In 2008, the success was marked by the administration of Gomel - the youth theater deserved the victory in the nomination "The best theater and entertainment institution". This reflects perfectly that over the 16 years of its existence the former "Independent" has achieved respect and fame. Together with the honorary title there was a renaming in "Gomel city youth theater".

The newest story of "Youth"

Thanks to the arrival of Khudruk Yuri Leonidovich Vutto, performances "Youth" sounded in a new way. The repertoire has considerably expanded due to the use of works by Belarusian authors.

The artists celebrated the 20th anniversary of the theatrical performance with a festive skit, which raised a long-standing problem - the "Youth" still does not have its own premises, all the performances take place on the rented stage.

Scandalous dismissal of the director of the theater

In 2016, there were regular personnel changes. Director of the Youth Theater of Gomel, Zoya Parkhomchuk, managed to work in this post for only 5 months, after which there was a scandalous dismissal from the ideological department of the city executive committee.

Injustice angered the artists: after the leader left 4 actors, including the leading stage master, engaged in 80% of the productions, and on the theater's website there was a provocative entry.

There were no objective reasons for the dismissal of the new director. на спектакль были раскуплены молниеносно. Under her guidance, there was a wonderful play "Where does love recede", which was very well received by the audience, and tickets for the performance were sold out at lightning speed. It is worth noting that the premiere was preceded by a conflict with local officials because of the poster.

There have also been positive changes in the organization of the living conditions of artists:

• The construction of toilets for theater workers is under way;
• The rehearsal hall is finished;
• In the plans was the opening of the acting studio.

I would like to believe that the existing 17 years tandem: the administration of the city of Gomel - the youth theater will be able to find a compromise that will suit both sides, and in the near future new interesting performances will appear on the city's stage.
