The mountains of the Crimea - where to visit, what to see. The highest mountain in Crimea

A man who came to the legendary peninsula, can not but see the mountains of the Crimea. However, it is important not just to notice them, the main thing is to consider them and get pleasure from what they see. It would be nice to walk along the paths, absorbing the ancient spirit of this land. It is noteworthy that the peninsula is interesting not the highest mountain in the Crimea - it is, by the way, recognized by experienced and seen many travelers as rather boring. This happens infrequently: usually the highest peak is different and interesting views from it. Picturesque and diverse are the mountains of the Crimea, whose names are all heard: Ayu-Dag, Ai-Petri, Demerdzhi, Rocks-ships (Elken-Kaya), Karadag, Chatyr-dag ... And all this should be looked at!

The highest mountain in Crimea

Of all the Crimean mountain chains, Babugan-Yaila has the maximum height. Here is located the highest mountain in the Crimea - Roman-Kosh - with a height of 1545 meters. It refers to the natural Crimean reserve, that is , it is believed that climbing it is prohibited. The reason for such a ban is the birch relic grove, left over from the ice age. Spectacular and especially memorable species with Roman-Kosh do not see, that's why tourists do not particularly seek here. However, those who wish can get from Yalta or Ai-Petri along the northeastern mountain path to him for about 6 hours. Just arrange a trip with foresters to avoid trouble!

By the way, it used to be believed that the highest mountain of Crimea is Chatyr-Dag, not far from Alushta. Only with the advent of more accurate measuring instruments this title passed to Roman-Kosh.

Demerdzhi and the Valley of Ghosts

By everyone's opinion, Demerdzhi - albeit not the highest mountain in the Crimea, but the most beautiful and mystical. The southern slope, called the Valley of Ghosts, is the most attractive for tourists. Even on a clear, sunny day, there is something to see: as a result of weathering, the terrain abounds with stone "fingers" and figures of unimaginable shapes carved into the rocks. The most recognizable are named for a long time: Frog, Giant, Gnome, Sphinx, Catherine ... However, during frequent fogs, it does appear that you are in an ancient castle with ghosts. To get to this wonderful place, you need to get on the trolley before turning on Radiant and climb the right path.

Ayu-Dagh

This is certainly not the highest mountain in the Crimea (climbers, probably, would have considered it a high hill), but, perhaps, the most famous and popular. Its "growth" is only 577 meters, but the outlines are so recognizable that they became a kind of visiting card of the peninsula (on a par with the Swallow's Nest). At all times, travelers who visited the Crimea, aspired to climb the Bear Mountain. In the old days, this required only physical efforts: from Partenit along the Raevskogo trail it was necessary to pass only two and a half kilometers. However, now the reserve is fenced with a fence, it is possible to pass through it only through the sanatorium "Crimea", by their passes. However, local residents (including security guards) do not agree with this restriction, so you will be happy to show the nearest hole in the fence.

Ai-Petri

From this mountain of Crimea the most spectacular views are opened, so the flow of nature lovers here does not run out during the whole season. Impressions begin even on a trip by cable car from Miskhor; The first will certainly be spoiled by the need to stand in line for several hours (yes, according to the Crimean heat!), But it is quickly forgotten at the first glance into the cabin window. The main thing is that the fog does not completely ruin the mood - it reigns here for two-thirds of the days in a year. However, in this way you can test your luck: many believe that if you saw the panorama from Ai-Petri on the first day, then for a long time they will be lucky in everything.

On Ai-Petri you can see from the sea: from the coast the peaks look like the teeth of a huge dragon. And if you can get to the viewing plateau by cable or from Yalta by car, then to the "teeth" - only on foot. But the upper plateau will please travelers with caves - Three-Eyes and Yalta. Also an unforgettable trip.

Kara-Dagh

It's not just a mountain, it's a solid array. It represents the remains of a volcano, extinct millions of 150 years ago. It is located near Feodosia, and is best known for rocky coastal formations, almost all of which have a personal name. The most famous are the Devil's finger, the Golden Gate (sometimes they are also called Devils) and the rock Ivan the robber, really like a man in peasant clothes walking in the waist-deep water. Since the 79th of the last century, Kara-Dag has been included in the state reserve, so his unauthorized visit threatens with fines. However, many beauties can be seen from the sea, and on a hike along the boundaries of the reserve. Or join the tour.

List all the mountain attractions of the Crimea is quite difficult. But just get to the place where you are going to stop. And already along the way you will understand what exactly you want to see.
