Portfolio For Pupil

Not every school requires a portfolio of a junior student. This experiment is currently under development. But still you can expect that in a few years the portfolio of the incoming student will become an obligatory attached document upon admission to school.

The compilation of the student portfolio becomes more and more relevant in the secondary school. The question is: does the student portfolio in primary schools have the right to exist, and in what forms should it be represented?

Many of the presented portfolio options are not suitable. How can it be replaced? To make a portfolio at once complex, or to begin with it is possible to be limited only to its part? To find all the answers to these questions, you need to think about what the goals should be, and also the tasks of maintaining the portfolio for the student.

The most important task will, of course, be the education and upbringing of the child in primary school. Initially, teachers as usual develop individual creative abilities of the student.

For starters, it is possible to single out such tasks and goals for maintaining a portfolio for the primary class:

  • Increase confidence in their abilities and self-esteem, create a situation of success for the student;
  • Maximum development of personal abilities of each student;
  • Development of cognizable interests in the child, as well as the formation of his readiness for independence;
  • Establishment and formation of creative activity, the manifestation of individual talent in creative activity, the development of further growth in creativity;
  • Formation of moral positive, and also moral qualities in the child;
  • Acquisition of some skills in reflexes, the formation of skills to analyze their interests and inclinations;
  • Acquisition of life ideals that can stimulate the child's desire for self-improvement.

In order to solve all these problems, many experts are sure that here it is necessary to pay attention not to the design of documents for the portfolio, but the portfolio from the creative works of the child. It is the "Creative section" in the portfolio that should be the most important and basic in the "General Documents" section. Consequently, the section in which the official documentation was supposed to be should go to the background.

The value of the student's portfolio will, of course, consist in the fact that he will continue to promote the child's self-esteem, the maximum disclosure of individual opportunities in him, and the further development of his creative growth. That's why you best learn for yourself, and also explain to the child that drawing up a portfolio is not a race for all sorts of diplomas and diplomas. Here the most important will be the process itself, and the participation in the creative activity, and not the result.

Long-term research by psychologists has forced many specialists in this field to take a viewpoint, thanks to which creative abilities will be characterized, will be considered not as "outstanding abilities" but as their motivation (namely their life goals).
