Monument to the heroine of the fairy tale about the golden fish

Goldfish is one of the most favorable and strong symbols that bring prosperity, luck and well-being to the house. Every kid from books knows that she is the main performer of any desires.

Pisces are present in many folk tales. The literary fairy tale about a gold fish was reworked for the first time by the Brothers Grimm. In our country, AS Pushkin created his work. It is called "The Tale of a Golden Fish". As the analysis of these works shows, fish is not so much a performer of desires, but an embodiment of the opportunity to start a new life, it is a symbol of enlightenment. The image of the unfortunate old man hiding the wise old man is the "spiritual" part of the human consciousness, while the greedy old woman is our insatiable ego, which is immersed in worldly vanity. The ego requires various pleasures.

The monument to the goldfish is established in many cities (Donetsk, Saransk, Berdyansk, Mamonovo, St. Petersburg, Adler, Lviv, Astrakhan, Kemerovo, Moscow).

It is interesting that a group of people who were afraid of a goldfish were singled out by psychologists. Of course, not literally. The point is that a person prefers to stay "at a broken trough", afraid to let something uncharted and new into his life.

You can add to the list of merits of goldfish that she became today the heroine of numerous anecdotes, as well as the main participant of Simoron rituals.

The monument, located in Astrakhan, is a goldfish embodied in bronze, which appears lying on the waves, also made of bronze. Sculpture is an advertising move of the company "Megafon". The emblems of this operator adorn the pedestal of the monument.

The opening of the monument was timed to the Day of the fisherman. It was held in 2011. The author of the sculpture is Marat Dzhamaletdinov.
