Chrysanthemums. Chrysanthemum bushy.

Chrysanthemums - beautiful and universal flowering plants with ancient history, for several thousand years of their cultural cultivation, a variety of varieties of different species and destinations were bred. These flowers can be planted in the ground or in a container to decorate the porch or balcony, there are room and greenhouse forms. Most chrysanthemums are enduring and can grow in conditions that are disastrous for other plants. Often one can observe their bloom in late autumn, before the onset of winter cold.

Classification combines varieties in size inflorescences (large and small-flowered), their shape and terry, the timing of flowering. According to the shape and terry of flower baskets, 11 classes are distinguished: spider-like, non-primary, pomponous, semimochore, lucid, anemone, curly, bent, hemispherical, flat, spherical. Basic perennial species: chrysanthemum white, shrubby (or shrubby), large. Traditionally, for street cultivation, Korean chrysanthemums, more resistant to negative climatic conditions, pests and diseases, are used, and flowers of Indian origin are cultivated in greenhouses. Annual chrysanthemums: keeled (quarantine, or tricolor), crowned, sown and prominent.

Chrysanthemum shrub, or shrubby, appeared in European flower beds not so long ago, just two hundred years ago. This we are indebted to the tireless researchers, furrowing the seas and oceans in search of the unknown, which brought this species from the Canary Islands. The peculiarities of the shrub variety are the compact size of the bush (in pots it grows no more than half a meter), enabling the formation of the stem by timely pinching the top and removing side shoots. Initially, this plant had flower baskets, like chamomile flowers, with a yellow center and white petals. In the process of selection, decorativeness increased, flowers increased in size, terry and semi-double forms appeared, as well as other color variations: pink, green, pure white and yellow, etc.

Like many street perennials, chrysanthemum bush before the onset of persistent colds is brought into a cool room, where it must also be protected from freezing (t not below +10) and moderately watered. In spring, the flower is transferred to a sunny and sheltered place from the winds and, if desired, left in a container or planted in the soil.

If you decide to start growing this plant, adhere to the basic rules:

1) make sure that the chrysanthemum will receive enough sunlight before planting or planting a plant pot. The flower does not tolerate penumbra, and being in the shade for more than 4 hours a day will have a bad effect on its flowering, growth and health;

2) when planting in the open ground, select a site with good drainage. Chrysanthemum has a superficial root system, and stagnant water can lead to its decay and other diseases. In case of heavy rains, you need to dig grooves to drain water;

3) with its love of light, the plant does not tolerate overheating. Therefore, in strong heat, the flower needs to be shaded or transferred to the room;

4) Chrysanthemum bush, as well as other flowering plants, during fertilization requires fertilizing with organic fertilizers, but it is important not to overfeed the plant, otherwise there will not be abundant flowering;

5) the plants need to be updated in a timely manner, at least every three years. To do this, dig a flower, untangle the roots, and then plant;

6) timely remove the wilted inflorescences and diseased parts of the plant. If necessary, treat from pests and diseases.

The sorts of shrub chrysanthemums on the market are diverse, anyone can choose something unusual to their liking. "Mona Lisa", "Euro yellow, white", "Artist", "Reagan", "Zembla", "Dushka", "Palm Green" - just can not enumerate. Very plastic and sympathetic plant chrysanthemum bush, varieties of this flower are constantly updated. There are new two-color variations, for example, in trendy grades "Haidar" petals of violet color are decorated with white "manicure", or in "Dans Scarlett" - the yellow base of the petal is shaded by inner red.
